FIRST GENERATION
1. William REED was born on Mar 27, 1818 in Newburyport.
He died on Nov. 5, 1894 in Fall River.
William Reed wrote an autobiography (among other things) that was published
in 1903 by Davol Press in Taunton. Two of their sons (William
& Milton) purchased the Taunton Daily Gazette, and it remained in
the Reed family for many years. The William Reed Memorial Scholarship
at Harvard was established by their son Milton, a prominent Fall River
attorney who served a term as mayor. Another son Waldo was also an
attorney in Fall River.
Lived in Iowa from 1852- 1855
He was married to Sophia Brown LADD (daughter of John LADD and Sophia
JAQUES).
Sophia Brown LADD was born on Sept. 20, 1819 in Haverhill, Essex Co,
Massachusetts, USA.

The William Reed Memorial Scholarship at Harvard was established
by Milton, a prominent Fall River attorney who served a term as mayor.
Milton's obituary was published in the Boston Herald 9/19/32.
He died the previous day: Sept. 18, 1932.

She died on Sept. 6 1846 in "of a wasting illness".

was born on Aug. 17, 1846.
She died in Nov. 1854 in Iowa.
SECOND GENERATION
2. William REED was born on Dec 2, 1842 in Newburyport.
He died on Oct. 9, 1913 in Taunton.
He was married to Katharine Tracy HALE on Dec 26, 1870 in Newburyport.
Katharine Tracy HALE died on May 20, 1903.

He died on Aug. 6, 1876.

REED was born on Jun 26, 1877.

4. Waldo REED was born on Jun 2, 1850 in Newburyport.
Waldo was also an attorney in Fall River.
He retired from the Fall River law practice in 1908 due mainly to having
terrible problems with deafness; then spent time at Westport Point, MA
and in Florida.
He was married to Ella BARTON on Nov. 30, 1876 in Fall River.
Ella BARTON died on Oct. 1,3 1923.
