| J. W. Ladd, 75, father of Mrs. Elmer Ripka of Kewanee, died February 3rd in Austin, Minn. Mr. Ladd was born and reared on a farm near Sheffield. He came of sturdy Colonial stock, being a fifth generation, direct descendant of Roger Williams on his mother's side. His father helped build the first railroad in the United States. Mrs. Greeley Rowell of Neponset is a sister of Mr. Ladd, Henry Wade of Neponset is a half brother, Mrs. Ed Wombacher of Peoria is a daughter, and John Ladd of Kewanee is a cousin. Burial was in Matawan, Minn, February 6th (1933) |
