Richard S. Drew emigrated at about age 7 with his parents from Birmingham, Warwick, England. He moved his family to French Ridge, Wisconsin about 1870. In 1883 he sold his farm and moved one mile west of what is now Bloomville, Wisconsin. After his wife died, he sold his farm to his son Sidney. Richard was a member of the school board, justice of the peace, town supervisor, and notary public. Richard died of cancer. He was also probably a Civil War Veteran according to his obituary.
