James Lenoir Fox b. September 6, 1841 in NC, USA, d. December 1, 1924 in Burke County, NC, USA, buried Quaker Meadows Church Cemetery, m. Mary Adeline Copeland, July 9, 1863 in Morganton, Burke Co., NC, USA.

From "Fox Family History" written by Manly Coggins Fox in 1945, I have the following information about James Lenoir Fox.

None of the above information has been confirmed as of yet. The above referenced history was compiled by Manly Coggins Fox with the help of three of James' children and at least two of his grandchildren, so I am hoping that it is fairly accurate. I am currently working to pin down and document all of the above information and will post corrections or documentation as I receive it. I am currently waiting to receive paperwork from the NC Archives that pertains to Samuel Williams being given guardianship of James, Almira and Hosie at the death of Alfred and I am assuming Jemima since they refer to the children as orphans in the document. The 1850 Census for Burke Co., NC, USA, shows James, Almira and Hosie living with their grand father Samuel Williams. I have been unable to confirm James' participation in the Civil War. The only James L. Fox that I have been able to locate to date died in 1862. I have been unable to locate the grave of James Lenoir Fox at Quaker Meadows (lots of headstones missing, damaged and worn beyond readability) though I was able locate the headstone of his daughter Jane Corena Fox (headstone reads Jane Fox Lingafelt) and photograph it. I am working to obtain church records to verify that he is buried there.
