This is the photo that Doris Pogue (my grandmother) described when she wrote the family history in 1933.  Mary Jane White found this picture, as is, in an old album that had belonged to Martha Ellis Siepel, who was an aunt of Ira Pogue, Doris' husband.  Separating all the connections in Hancock County is like trying to separate cold spaghetti!  Mary Jane and Gerald, her husband, carefully removed it from the old album and gave it to me when my husband and I visited them - what an unexpected treasure this is!  Gerald is related to me, we think, on my mother's side of the family (haven't worked it all out yet), and Mary Jane is related to me through the Pogues.
