Elvira L. Hadley & Augustus Rowland Scott

Dennise Heeren, third great-granddaughter through Francina Scott, has dedicated a significant amount of time and effort to researching this line.  Her finds are enriching this and succeeding pages with important details.

From a letter written by Abel Larkin (husband of Elvira's sister, Adeline) dated April 22, 1860, to his brother.
Shared by John Franklin Regan, Jr.:

"Elvira Scott made us a visit last February from Michigan.  She went to her old home expecting to find her parents alive and well, knew nothing of their death until she rapped at the door.  She said she nearly fainted.  Letters had been sent but not received.  She is pretty intelligent and well posted in the religious and political movements of the day. Scott a farmer, tolerable independent in property."

From Elvira's death certificate, book 2, page 14, #342, the cause of death was "Dropsy".  This condition is defined as "Edema (swelling), often caused by kidney or heart disease."
