RICHARD BOSTON

WILLIAM E. YETTER
1859-1933
ROBERT H. REXROAT
ca. 1869-1947

Ida May Sammons, daughter of James Sammons and Sarah Ellen Way, was born February 7, 1873, in Hancock County, Illinois, probably on the Sammons homestead south of Joetta in Hancock Township.

She married first Richard Boston about February 8, 1893.  Marriage Documents

Richard Boston was born about 1868 in Illinois, probably in Carthage Township, Hancock County. He was the son of Reuben J. Boston and Sarah Jane Dale.  He died about August 12, 1896, and was buried at Moss Ridge Cemetery, Carthage, Hancock County.  This short-lived marriage was not mentioned in Ida's obituary, which gives the impression that it may have ended prior to Richard's death.  There were, apparently, no children born of this union.

Ida married William Edgar Yetter on October 26, 1896, in Lee County, Iowa.  William was born July 8, 1859, in Hancock Township, to William Yetter and Mary M. Long.  He died February 15, 1933, at his home near Joetta, interment at Majorville Cemetery in Hancock Township.  Tombstone & obituaries

Three children were born to Ida and William Yetter, none of whom survived childhood.  In the 1900 Federal census, Ida was shown to be the mother of two children, both living, yet those children were not enumerated at the time.  William Yetter's obituary states that two children died in early infancy.

The third child, Eva May, died at the age of 2 1/2.

The loss of their little ones was perhaps attenuated by their considerable effort, over the course of many years, to support the care of unfortunate children.  They held dinners and parties to raise funds for the Children's Memorial Home.

Ida married Robert H. Rexroat on April 8, 1935.  He was the son of James M. and Susan (or Susannah) Jane Rexroat, natives of Kentucky and Illinois, respectively.  Robert was born in December 1869, according to the 1870 Federal Census, probably in Scotland Township, McDonough County, Illinois.  He was first married to Laura Idella Rexroat, daughter of Lewis and Catharine Goodpasture Rexroat, of Morgan County, Illinois; Laura died March 19, 1923, in Macomb, McDonough County.

Robert died January 26, 1947, at Colchester, McDonough County.  Burial location undetermined.
