Naomi Roberts, the daughter of Jozedic Roberts and Mary Ann Shipley, was born in February 5, 1858, in Cass County, Missouri.  She died September 12, 1942, at Macomb, McDonough County, Illinois, and was buried at Good Hope Cemetery, Good Hope, McDonough County.

The 1920 census showed B as Naomi's middle initial, but on her death certificate there is a specific note that she had no middle name.  Death Certificate

On December 24, 1872, Naomi married Harrison Hungate Charter at Sciota, McDonough County.  Marriage Documents

Harrison Charter was born in Illinois in 1855.  He died October 4, 1923, at LaHarpe, Hancock County, Illinois, and is buried at Good Hope Cemetery.  He was the son of Bowen G. Charter and Bowen's first wife, Polly J. Hungate.  In 1866 Bowen married his second wife, Amanda E. Roberts, Naomi's elder sister.  So when Harrison and Naomi married six years later, Harrison's stepmother, Amanda, became his sister-in-law, and she also became stepmother-in-law to her sister, Naomi.
