Amanda married Bowen G. Charter about April 12, 1866, in Hancock County, Illinois.

Bowen G. Charter was born about 1825 in Kentucky.  He was first married to Polly J. Hungate about March 27, 1845, in McDonough County, Illinois.  Polly died prior to June 1, 1860.  She and Bowen were the parents of at least 7 children, all born in Illinois.  One of the seven was Harrison Hungate Charter, born about 1855.

Ten years after Bowen and Amanda's marriage, Harrison married Naomi Roberts, Amanda's younger sister.

So, the older sister, Amanda, became the second wife of the father (Bowen), and the younger sister, Naomi, married the son (Harrison), making Amanda the stepmother-in-law to her own sister.  And Harrison's stepmother, Amanda, also became his sister-in-law.
