John O. Nelson was born in 1871 in Missouri, the son of James V. Nelson and Edna Williams.  He died in 1962.

About 1895 John married Willa D. Rorabaugh, daughter of Simon Rorabaugh and Sarah Catherine Smallwood.  Willa was born in 1872 in Missouri, probably Adair County, and died April 15, 1963.

Both John and Willa were interred at Old Mission Mausoleum, Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas.
