Blandinsville and Colchester are in McDonough County.  Census records suggest that all of the Burton children were born in Colchester Township.

On June 5, 1917, Charlie M. Burton registered for Selective Service.  At that time he was a laborer in a brickyard in Colchester.  He was reported as married, with his wife and a child as dependents.

In the 1920 Federal Census, Charlie was counted as a single man in his parents' home.  In the 1930 census he reported he was first married at the age of 21.

Although her obituary says Colchester, if it was a home birth, Opal Wear was probably born in Hancock Township, near Joetta, Hancock County, Illinois. She was a student at
