Nellie Cordell was born April 27, 1889, in McDonough County, Illinois, the daughter of Harvey Russell Cordell and Sarah E. Brown.

Grover and Nellie were married in 1907.  They farmed in Tennessee Township, McDonough County, where they raised two daughters:

Nellie died September 15, 1961.  Grover died in 1963.
