CLYDE THOMAS DAVIS 1898-1978
GEORGIA SARAH TOTTEN 1900-1989

Clyde Thomas Davis, son of George Alva Davis and Mattie Roberts, was born in McDonough County, Illinois, probably in Blandinsville, on March 16, 1898.

After Mattie died in 1901, Clyde was raised by Alva's sister, Pearl Permelia Davis, and her husband, William Miller.  At 12, Clyde was working for wages on his uncle's farm and going to school.

Georgia Sarah Totten was the daughter of George W. and Elizabeth (Hill) Totten, originally from Virginia and North Carolina, respectively.  Georgia was born March 3, 1900, in Hopper Precinct, Henderson County, Illinois.  By 1910 the Totten family had relocated to Des Moines Township, Van Buren County, Iowa.

Clyde was 18 and Georgia was 16 when they married.  In 1920 they and their infant son, Billie T., were living in Blandinsville.  Clyde was a salesman in or for a meat market.

Shortly thereafter they moved to Iowa, where three more children joined the family: Helen E., Clyde Jr., and Darlene L.  In 1930 the family was living in the town of Missouri Valley in Harrison County, Iowa, located on the Iowa - Nebraska border.  There Clyde was employed as a fireman for a light company.

Clyde died in Napa, Napa County, California, on July 2, 1978.  Georgia died June 9, 1989, also in Napa.
