Ronald K. Conn Dies; Rites Set

Ronald K. Conn, 65, of 715 E. Franklin St., Macomb, a longtime teacher and coach at Edison Junior High School, died Friday at McDonough District Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Conn will be at 2 p. m. Monday at Jones Mortuary in Colchester with the Rev. Earl Clark and the Rev. Ernest Louderman officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester.  Memorial contributions may be made to the McDonough County YMCA or the McDonough County Senior Citizens Program.

Mr. Conn was born Nov. 11, 1910, near Tennessee, the son of Charles and Ida Mae Campbell Conn.  He was a 1928 graduate of Colchester High School and a 1932 graduate of Western Illinois University.  He taught school in rural schools before teaching and coaching at Prairie City and Good Hope.  He taught and coached at Edison Junior High School for 17 years before retiring in 1967.  He was a member of the Macomb Elks Lodge and the Retired Teachers Association.  Since his retirement, he had been active in the McDonough County YMCA and the McDonough County Senior Citizens Program.

He was married June 9, 1934, to Mary Ida Morrow.  She survives.

He is also survived by two aunts, Mrs. Irma Goff of Colchester and Mrs. Iva Conn of Virden.
