After the death of Laura Eaton White, Jary was married a second time, July 11, 1861, to Mrs. Elizabeth James, daughter of
Jary and Elizabeth were
Jerry White, aged 75, died at 3 a.m. of malignant tumor of the stomach. He will be buried at the Ft. Green Cemetery, services in the M. E. Church, Rev. Mr. Walker will officiate. White was one of our oldest citizens coming here from New York at an early day; a quiet, good man who had won the respect and confidence of all. He was a true Christian in the full sense of the term. His wife and children have the sympathy of all their friends. If Jary was initially buried at Fountain Green, his remains and/or tombstone were subsequently moved to Majorville. We believe that was case with Laura's remains and/or monument. Majorville Cemetery did not exist in 1860 and the Fountain Green Cemetery would have been a logical location as both of Jary's parents were buried there. | |
