William Kettle Simmons and his twin brother, Calvin D., were born August 17, 1882, in Fountain Green Township, Hancock County, Illinois, sons of Andrew Ringer Simmons and Mary E. Kittle. He married Edna Louise Mains of Philadelphia, Cass County, Illinois, on February 7, 1906.  She was born in Illinois on October 11, 1884, the daughter of Armsted Mains and Mary Belle Black. When William filled out a Selective Service form in 1918, he reported that he was the State Sales Manager for Appleton Manufacturing Company of Batavia, Illinois.  His residence was at 718 DeWitt, Kalamazoo, Michigan.  He was described as being of medium height, stout build, with brown hair and grey eyes. In the midst of a promising career, William died of pneumonia in Kalamazoo on February 7, 1920. His remains were returned to Illinois for burial at Majorville Cemetery.  Obituary The News of Fountain Green October 24, 1923 Mrs. Louise Simmons and Mrs. Grace Evans drove to Peoria last week in Mrs. Simmons' Buick.  Mrs. Evans visited her brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mull, Mrs. Simmons went on business and purchased a beauty parlor in Pekin, which she expects to take possession of soon.  Her daughter, Thelma, has graduated from the Liberty School of Beauty Culture.   The News of Fountain Green October 15, 1924 Mrs. Louise Simmons of Pekin, Ill., dau. in law of A. R. Simmons was here for a short visit recently.  Mrs. Simmons is the proprietor of a beauty parlor in Pekin.  Her oldest daughter,Thelma and husband make their home with her.  Her youngest daughter, Leota, is at home going to high school.

Louise remarried after 1920.  Robert D. McChesney, an Illinoisan, was born February 17, 1896.  In 1930 they were living in Camden, New Jersey, where Robert was a foreman in a radio factory.

Robert died in Los Angeles County, California, on June 3, 1960.  Louise died five months later, on November 2, 1960, in Tehama County, Californiay.
