![]() Dad would go over to Jim and Jennie Burrow's place and trim A. R.'s hair and long white beard, which reached near his waist. A. R. was a tall, thin man. I remember when A.R. was buried. It was very muddy as the road from Delbert Campbell's corner to the church was dirt, so A. R. was brought by Williams Mortuary in Colchester in a horse-drawn hearse with a four-horse hitch of black road horses, and the rest of the family and friends were brought from the corner in wagons and hayracks. It was quite a thing to see and remember. I think Harley Parker and Dad dug the grave and had trouble keeping the water out because it was so wet. |
