| Seldon T. Seward was born in Kansas, the son of Thomas Seward and - He was not counted with his parents in 1860. This by itself is not hard proof. One simple explanation could be that his name was dropped when the enumerator recopied pages. But the absence of his name in 1860 must be considered along with other records. Using November as his birth month: - 1870 census, enumerated in June, age at last birthday - 9; born in 1860 - 1880 census, enumerated in June, age at last birthday - 18; born in 1861 - When he married in early 1888, he reported he would be 26 on his next birthday; born in 1862. - 1900 census, enumerated in June, reported birth November 1862, age at last birthday - 37 - 1910 census, enumerated in April, age at last birthday 50; born in 1859. - 1920 census, enumerated in January, age at last birthday - 62; born in 1857. - 1930 census, enumerated in April, age at last birthday - 72; born in 1857. Seldon married Edna A. Williams on February 16, 1888, at Carthage, Hancock County, Illinois. Witnesses to the marriage were O. F. Berry and Mrs. L. A. Cutler. Edna Williams was born February 17, 1863, in Hancock County, probably in Hancock Township. Her parents were Seldon died April 10, 1934, in Fountain Green Township. Edna died December 5, 1952, in McDonough County, near Macomb. They are both buried at Majorville Cemetery, Hancock County, Illinois. The children of Seldon Seward and Edna Williams were:
