CHLOE B. CALLIHAN & WINFRED C. THOMAS

 

A brief obituary cut from an unknown newspaper.
Chloe B. Callihan was born about 1893, probably in the village of Tennessee, McDonough County, Illinois, to Simon Thomas Callihan and Margaret Anzonetta Williams.

She married Winfred C. Thomas from Knoxville, Tennessee, son of James Thomas and Hattie Huffaker. Winfred died in March of 1971, at Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois.

What is not clearly apparent is the year Chloe and Winfred married.  He was born in 1893, she was born about 1893, and the 1930 census stated they were both 26 when first married.  The above document from 1917 indicated Winfred was married at that time.

Mrs. Thomas Callihan and daughter, Mrs. Chloe Thomas of Knoxville, Tenn., were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Day.  Mr. and Mrs. Day gave a family dinner in their honor.  Mr. and Mrs. Day's children and grandchildren who live near the home were all present.  This was a very happy reunion of relatives.


John William Day was the nephew of S. T. Callihan, through S. T.'s sister, Mary Margaret Callihan.
