LUTIE ELIZABETH CALLIHAN 1881-1948
JAMES BALL EWALT 1879-19__

 

Lutie Callihan was born April 9, 1881, in Hancock Township, Hancock County, Illinois, the daughter of Simon Thomas Callihan and Margaret Anzonetta Williams.  Her name is found in one census as Elizabeth L., but Social Security records show the name Lutie E.

She married James Ball Ewalt on June 14, 1917.  He was born in Lewis County, Missouri, on September 9, 1879, the son of Samuel Richard Ewalt and Catherine Ball.

No children were born to Lutie and James.

In 1918 they were living in Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois.  On September 12th James signed up for the draft.  The following details are excerpted from his registration.
