The date of death on his tombstone has been previously interpreted as both Apr. 6, 1854, and Aug. 16, 1854.  Having the benefit of viewing the tombstone after it was cleaned, we believe the date is Apr. 16, 1854.  This photo was taken in 2004 by A. James Flynn and Jane Frances Wybrant were married in Ireland prior to 1844.

Jane Frances Wybrant was born about 1814 in Sheeanamore, Wicklow County, Ireland.  Based on census records, there was apparently a familial tie between Jane and Ann Wybrant (born circa 1790 in Ireland), and Andrew Wybrant (1820-1861), who is also buried at St. Simon/Lincoln Catholic Cemetery.

Flynn family records indicate Jane may have been the daughter of James W. Wybrant and Sarah Doyle.

Click on the image to see the complete photograph. The family left the McDonough County area between the 1870 and 1880 Federal Census enumerations.  Jane Frances, her son, James, and granddaughter, Mary C. (daughter of Ann Flynn and James Barker) lived in Hannibal, Marion County, Missouri, for a time.  They left Missouri in 1881 and moved to the area of North Platte, Lincoln County, Nebraska.

Jane Frances Wybrant Flynn died there in 1901 and was buried at the North Platte Cemetery. Tombstone
