MARGARET BRANHAM 1837-1916
SOLOMON D. HAINLINE 1834-1906

 

A photo of the Hainline - Branham tombstone.Margaret Branham, daughter of Thomas Branham and Martina Gough was born April 24, 1837, in Illinois, probably in Hancock County.  Her name was entered in one census as Susan M., but thereafter only as Margaret.

She married Solomon D. Hainline on June 24, 1855, in McDonough County, Illinois.  Marriage documents

Solomon D. Hainline was born in Kentucky on November 18, 1834.  He was the son of Jacob and Celia Hainline.  Celia's maiden name is found with various spellings, including Cockerel, Cockerell, Cockrell and Cockrill.

Solomon died February 25, 1906; Margaret died January 25, 1916, in Hire Township. Both are buried in what is now called South Cemetery, Hire Township, McDonough County, just south of Blandinsville.

The children of Margaret Branham and Solomon D. Hainline were:

i. Walter Hainline, born September 6, 1857*, probably in McDonough County, Illinois.  He died July 28, 1865, also in McDonough County, interment in South Cemetery.
 
ii. Mary B. Hainline, born about 1859 in Illinois, probably in McDonough County.
 
iii. Lillie Dale Hainline, born about 1861 in Illinois, probably in Hire Township, McDonough County.
 
iv. George Wesley Hainline, born July 4, 1871 in Illinois, probably Hire Township, McDonough County.  He died May 12, 1965, and was buried at Glade City Cemetery, Blandinsville, McDonough County, Illinois.
 
v. Mertie (Myrtie) Hainline, born about 1874 in Illinois, probably in Hire Township, McDonough County.
