M. Orville White of Colchester Dies

M. Orville White, 89, of RR1, Colchester, died Sunday at Sunset House in Quincy.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Jones' Mortuary.  The Rev. Orville Bear will officiate.  Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery.  Friends may call at the chapel. Family visitation will be Tuesday evening.

He was born Dec. 6, 1883, at Joetta, the son of Marion and Ellenora Siepel White.  He was a lifelong resident of the Joetta community and was a retired farmer.  On Dec. 25, 1906, he married Mabel Alton.  She died in 1955.  Mr. White was a member of the Friendship Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Warren (Frances) Switzer of Fountain Green and Mrs. Harry (Lucille) Weston of Lombard; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  Five sisters are deceased, Mrs. Eva Martin, Mrs. Ida Barr, Mrs. Hattie Hocker and Mrs. Clara Smith, and one who died in infancy.  Two brothers are also deceased, Charles White, and an infant.

Orville was attending Woodville School during the 1900-1901 and 1901-1902 school terms. At the same time Mabel was a student at the Fountain Green school.

Orville and Mabel's daughters were probably born at the White home in Hancock Township.

i. Frances Evelyn White, born October 11, 1907, died January 31, 1990, at Macomb, McDonough County.  Burial at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
 
ii. Margaret Lucille White, born June 6, 1911, died February 5, 1977, burial at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.  She married Harry Weston (1897-1971), a native New Yorker.
