Mrs. Weakley, who had the misfortune of breaking by a fall, her hip at her home on April 2, is at the St. Francis hospital, doing as well as could be expected. She has many visitors and callers which she enjoys very much. Eugene Bartlett remains about the same. S. B. Duffy has been on the sick list but is much better. Frank Huston has been real sick for the past week. Mrs. Eliza Prentice was elected school director of the Walnut school on Saturday. The other directors are Glenn Smith and Mrs. Pogue. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Urton and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Urton were visitors at the Frank Meyers home on Friday coming to see their mother, Mrs. Margerette Ebert. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Carper, of Augusta, visited at the Furchtbar home, Monday and Tuesday. Mr. Brown of LaHarpe had dinner at the same home THursday, also a number of callers, were there the past week. S. B. Duffy called on Lem Parker, Sunday evening. Lem Parker called on Frank Huston one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meyers and mother, Mrs. Margerette Ebert, and granddaughter, Margerette Meyers were Sunday visitors at the Russell Meyers home. Clarence, Genevieve, Dorothy and Jean called to see their father, S. B. Duffy at the Furchtbar home on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Lenix and son, Robert and friend, from Macomb, were Sunday guests of Harley Parker. Mr. and Mrs. Harley Parker visited their mother, Mrs. Sadie Tippet recently. The reception to be held at Majorville on Saturday evening was postponed indefinitely on account of the serious illness of one of their beloved members, Mrs. Ada Wright. The Furchtbar sisters called at the Prentice home Monday morning. Wilburn Mort and family were business callers in Carthage Saturday. |
