A map of Des Moines County, Iowa. With the exception of their youngest child, George Victor, all of Marlow's and Mary's children were probably born in Hancock Township, where the family resided until about 1887 according to the obituary of son Charles.  They then relocated to Yellow Springs Township, Des Moines County, Iowa, near the village of Kossuth.  Des Moines County is across the Mississippi River and due west of Henderson County, Illinois, due north of Hancock County, Illinois.
