![]() Former Eva Booz, Like Husband, was Native of Disco Neighborhood Several LaHarpe relatives and old friends went to the Stillwell Methodist church on Saturday afternoon to pay their final respects at funeral services to Mrs. Robert Blythe, 71-year-old native of the Disco community, who died at her home in Stillwell about 7:00 a. m. Wednesday, February 21, 1945. Interment was made in the Chili cemetery. Among those from this vicinity to attend the rites were A. L. Blythe, Mrs. Paul Peyron and daughter, Mrs. Franciene Bouseman, Lee Blythe of Galesburg, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ailes, Mr. and Mrs. Alf Blythe, Mesdames Kate Shutwell, Lurana Blythe, Miss Nellie Blythe and the Clarence Blythe family. Eva Booz was born at Fountain Green June 25, 1873, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Booz. She and Robert Blythe, a young man of the same community, were united in marriage in the bride's parents' home on September 25, 1893, and the couple began at Disco a marital career which was to endure for over a half-century. They resided for about 20 years at Disco and 30 ears ago moved to their home at Stillwell. Were Married 51 Years
They became the fond parents of six children, five of whom are left with the sorrowing husband and father to mourn Mrs. Blythe's departure. They are Mrs. Ruth Parker of Bowen, Mrs. Mabel Whewel of Ferris, Mrs. Pearl Peterson of Stillwell, Clarence Blythe of Disco and Laurence Blythe of Stillwell. Another son, Charlie Blythe, passed away in 1929. A brother, Charlie Booz, lives at Portis, Kansas, and two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Palmer in Salem, Oregon and Mrs. Charles Mann, at Colorado Springs, Colorado. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a broad circle of devoted friends. Four grandsons are in the service: Robert Whewell in the Navy at Bremerton, Washington; Dale Whewell at Great Lakes, Donald Parker, somewhere in Germany, and Lloyd Blythe, who was killed in action at Thal, France. |
