JOHN ALDAY 1860-1935
MARY ELIZABETH BELLMAN 1857-1913

A scanned image of the original obituary from the newspaper.

While the obituary stated that Mrs. Alday was born in 1867, both the 1900 and 1910 Federal Censuses indicate she was born in 1857, and the 1900 census specifically reported August 1857.

Her death, at age 55, was reported in The LaHarper published on June 27, 1913.

John Alday died February 5, 1935, at Ferris, Hancock County.

The Alday daughters were:

i. Margaret Catherine Alday, born about 1884 in Germany.  She died after April 1, 1930.

ii. Mary Elizabeth Alday, born about 1887 at Blandinsville, McDonough County, Illinois. Apparently a twin to Anna.  She died after June 1, 1910.

iii. Anna Christine Alday, born about 1887 at Blandinsville.  Apparently a twin to Mary. She married Jasper Garrett Huls (born December 25, 1877, in Illinois) in 1912, probably in October.  Both Jasper and Anna died after April 1, 1930.
