HENRY LOUIS SCHWERER 1868-1949
ALLIE A. NOBLE 1877-1959

Henry Louis Schwerer was born July 20, 1868, Fountain Green Township, Hancock County, Illinois.  He was the son of Louis Schwerer and Elizabeth Dorothy George.

Allie A. Noble was born in Illinois on July 22, 1877.  She was the daughter of William H. Noble, whose family migrated from Brown County, Ohio, to Illinois in the late 1850s, and Margaret A. Hungate.

Allie and Henry were married on February 22, 1899, at Blandinsville, McDonough County, Illinois.

They farmed in Fountain Green Township, Hancock County, and raised their family there.

SCHWERER HOME IS DESTROYED BY FIRE

As we go to press this Wednesday morning word is received that the Henry Schwerer farm home about five miles northeast of here was burning.  We have not learned any particulars only that the fire started in the roof and had too much headway to check when discovered.  A few of the household articles were save [sic].  It is reported the smokehouse had caught fire also and everything was being done to save the barn.

This home was a modern two-story structure with modern improvements and will be a great loss to them. We have not learned whether they carried insurance or not.

Henry died May 4, 1949, in Fulton County, Illinois, and was buried in Glade City Cemetery at Blandinsville.  Allie died on February 22, 1959, and was buried at his side.

Their children were probably all born in the Schwerer home in Fountain Green Township:

i. Margaret I. Schwerer, born about 1900.  She married Orin D. Kimler.

ii. Marie Schwerer, born about 1903.  In the 1910 census, it appears Marie was recorded as "Morras", a male child.  We believe she married Herman McCarty.

iii. Herman M. Schwerer, born May 6, 1907, died October 13, 1951, burial at Glade City Cemetery.  His wife was Gladis E., maiden name undetermined.  Buried in the grave next to Herman is Edward Schwerer, March 3, 1937 - June 2, 1938.
