Robert Brandon died in Omaha, Nebr., Tuesday, May 2, his age being thirty-nine years.  He was stricken with intestinal trouble only a few days before his death, the illness being a recurrence of an attack for which he had undergone operation at Mayo Bros. hospital at Rochester, Minn., about four years ago.  He was until early manhood a resident of Fountain Green, where his mother, Mrs. Laura Brandon, and a brother, Linn, still reside.  He is survived by his wife, who was formerly Miss Ethel Tyler, of Fountain Green, and two children, a daughter, nine years old, and a son seven years old. The body was brought to the old home in Fountain Green, and the funeral services were held at the home of his mother.  Interment was in the Fountain Green cemetery.  Mr. Brandon was a jolly, good clean fellow, with a hots of friends wherever he was.  He was a fine musician and at the time of his death had charge of the musical department of one of the largest stores in Omaha.  He had lots of friends here who mourn his loss and extend their deepest sympathies to his sorrowing family.

Robert Geddes Brandon was born July 14, 1877, in Hancock County, Illinois, probably in Fountain Green Township, the son of George M. Brandon and Laura Ann Geddes.

Ethel J. Tyler was born October 1, 1881, probably also in Fountain Green Township.  Her parents where Charles Church Tyler and Olive R. J. Webster.

News items regarding Robert and Ethel's marriage were published in The Quill June 12, 1906, and in The LaHarper on June 15, 1906.  The couple located in Nebraska where both of their children were born.

The Brandon children were:

i. Dorothy Brandon, born about 1907.

ii. George R. Brandon, born about 1909.

Robert was buried at McConnell Geddes Cemetery in Fountain Green Township (rather than in the Fountain Green Cemetery).  The date of death on his tombstone is May 3, 1916, rather than May 2.  The inscription for Ethel does not include a date of death, which suggests she may not have been buried there.

In 1920 Ethel, Dorothy and George were living in Carthage, Hancock County.  In 1930 Ethel and George were in Oberlin, Ohio, where she was employed as a dietician.
