From the  History of Hancock County, by Thomas Gregg, 1880, page 821, listing early settlers in Fountain Green Township: "Jary White Sr., born in Wales about 1790; came to America in 1811, and settled in Fountain Green in 1835; his death occurred September 8, 1844."
Calculating from the inscription on his tombstone, Jary White was born December 17, 1786. Lucena Lawrence was born on April 19,1790, in Littleton, Massachusetts, to Simon Lawrence and Sibble Robbins. She was a twin sister of Lucinda Lawrence. The dates on Lucena's tombstone calculate to a birth date of April 25th, which was actually the twins' baptism date; both dates are recorded in Littleton vital records. Lucinda and her husband, Jesse Hadley, reportedly arrived in Fountain Green in 1834. The sisters' final resting places lie within a mile or so of each other, as the crow flies.
