Edward Wyatt Kimbrough was born October 16, 1872, the son of James William Kimbrough and Nancy Adeline Russell.  A family history reported that the family came from Kentucky in 1866 and immediately and permanently settled in Hancock County, Illinois.  Efforts to locate them in the Federal Census of 1870 have been unsuccessful.

Edward first married Florence Ellen Shields, daughter of Mary Jane Sammons and John Edwin Shields. The marriage took place on October 17, 1897, at Colchester, McDonough County, Illinois. Follow the link to Florence for more information, marriage documents and early census records.

Edward and Florence had three children before divorcing prior April 1, 1910.

i. Delta Marie Kimbrough, born December 23, 1898, in Illinois, died in 1990.  She married John Rundle (1897-1967), son of John B. Rundle.  They are both buried at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Colchester, McDonough County, Illinois.  Tombstone

ii. Ivan Edward Kimbrough, born September 3, 1900, in Illinois, died July 22, 1968, burial at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.  Tombstone  He married Willa Mae Reed (born October 31, 1900, in Alabama) on August 7, 1920, at Waynesboro, Mississippi.  They divorced.

One son, Edward Shields Kimbrough, born December 26, 1921, died April 14, 1996, last address on Social Security records: Georgetown, South Carolina.

Edward married Edna Blanch Siepel, daughter of Nathaniel Seipel and Frances Knoedler on February 12, 1913, at Carthage, Hancock County, Illinois.

Edna was born in 1894 in Hancock Township, Hancock County.

Edward and Edna also had three children together, all of whom were born in or near Hancock Township:

i. Albert Ermine Kimbrough, born November 10, 1913, died March 8, 1917, buried at Friendship Cemetery, McDonough County.
 
ii. Lawrence Eldred Kimbrough
 
iii. Mary Frances Kimbrough
 

Edward died January 26, 1958.  Edna survived him by almost thirty years, until 1989.  They are buried at Friendship Cemetery.
