Erected in 1931, this is the third building to house the Friendship United Methodist congregation.
The last service was held on December 10, 2006. There were no longer enough members to sustain the organization and support the church.
The building was offered the Western Illinois Threshers organization of Hamilton, Illinois. In February of 2009 the building was removed from its foundation in preparation for a move to a new location.
The existing burial area will be maintained but no new plots will be sold at Friendship Cemetery.
