Thelma Barbe Kinkeade At the time of his marriage to Mary Virginia, Eli stated that he was born in Hancock Township, Hancock County. However, census records suggest he was born in Carthage Township. The nuptials were performed by Rev. William Booz at the home of Thomas Benton McCubbin in Hancock Township. No witnesses' names were recorded. The 1918 Prairie Farmer's Reliable Directory indicated that the Munson's farm was located in Section 10 of Hancock Township. Section 10 is the next section west of Joetta (in Section 11). |

Before the enumeration of the 1930 census, Eli remarried. Using the scant information gleaned from the 1930 census, we find one possible candidate for Eli's second wife. According to California death records, a woman name Kathryn C. Munson died on February 1, 1942, in Los Angeles County, California. Her birth date was September 6, 1868; birth location - Illinois; father's surname - Dohl; mother's maiden name - Anderson.
