Not shown in the Seybert household was there oldest daughter, Edith who was already married and living on her own (see below).
Ten years later, the Seybert's were again found in Kalamazoo, ED# 18, sheet 3B, enumerated on 4 April, address 526 William St. William was now age 53, occupation "Engineer" at "School", he stated that he was married at age 20; Cloa was now age 49 and stated that she was married at age 16. Still living in the household were, Dorothy, age 19, occupation listed as an office stenographer and Clifford, age 16.

1.1 Edith L. Seybert, was born on 2 August 1899 in Burr Oak, St. Joseph County, Michigan and died in November 1980 in Portage, Kalamazoo County, Michigan. She is buried in Riverview Cemetery in Kalamazoo. Her obituary appeared in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 20 November 1980. Edith married (1st) Charles Beede, they had one son Fred Beedewho was born in 1916. Fred was a WWII Veteran and died in May 2002 (obituary). Edith married (2nd) Willard "Bill" Terrell, they also had one son, Norman Terrell, who was born in about 1923 and lived in Georgia. Edith and Bill did live in Sacramento, California for a while, but eventually moved back to Michigan. After the death of her 2nd husband, Bill, and the death of her younger sister Dorothy, Edith married her brother-in-law, Clive Elliot Duncan (see below under her sister Dorothy), to help take care of her young niece, who was left without a mother. Edith and Willard H. Terrell were listed in the 1930 Federal Census of Kalamazoo City, ED# 17, sheet 7A, address 421 West Water St., enumerated on 8 April. Willard gave his age as 32, and his age at marriage as 23, his place of birth as Ohio, his father's place of birth as Michigan and his mother's as New York. He listed his occupation as a credit man for a "novelty mfg. co.". Edith listed her age as 30, and her age at marriage as 21, father's place of birth as Indiana, and her mother's place of birth as Ohio. Also living in the home was their son Norman H., age 7, and her uncle Ivan Bixler, age 29, occupation mechanic in a "garage equip. co.". Edith or Grandma Duncan, was the only grandmother I knew, her sister Dorothy died before I was born. I have very fond memories of Grandma--

1.2 Alvin Seybert, was born on 22 October 1904 in Kalamazoo, Michigan and died on 4 October 1990 in Kalamazoo (his obituary). Alvin Seybert was age 25 and married in the 1930 Federal Census (he stated that he was married at age 18). He was living in Kalamazoo at 901 Burr Oak Ct. and listed his occupation as a distribution manager at a wholesale news agency, his wife Dorothy (Sherwood), was age 23, born in Michigan (Dorothy stated that she was married at age 17), their two children were Barbara J., age 6, and William age 4 1/2.
1.3 Helen B. Seybert, was born on 8 March 1909, in Kalamazoo, Michigan and died on 20 June 1951 in Kalamazoo. Helen married Arend J. Bos, on 4 March 1927. Arend and Helen were found living in Kalamazoo in the 1930 Federal Census, in Kalamazoo Township, Kalamazoo County, ED# 41, sheet 18B. Arend was working in as a machinist in a foundry, and Helen was a clerk in a dry goods store. They had no children living in the home in 1930. Helen's obituary was published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 21 June 1951.

1.4 Dorothy Irene Seybert, was born on 29 January 1911 in Kalamazoo, Michigan and died in October 1958. Dorothy married Clive Elliot Duncan on 25 October 1931 in Kalamazoo. Clive was the only son of George Elliot Duncan and Mina Church and grew up in Alma, Gratiot County, Michigan. He was an avid fisherman and they lived at Pine Lake and later Sunset Lake in Vicksburg. As a small boy he once made me a fishing pole from some parts in his workshop and took me bass fishing before the season had started. He caught and released at least five nice fish in an hour--I never had a bite. My grandfather let me reel in each of the fish he hooked. I still have a couple of the lures that he made by hand. Her obituary appeared in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 17 October 1958. Clive died on 25 October 1972, his obituary from the Kalamazoo Gazette:
“Duncan, Mr. Clive E.,Clive and Dorothy are both buried in Riverside Cemetery in Kalamazoo.
2525 W. Milham Ave.,
Portage—Passed away Oct. 25, 1972 at Franklin Community Hospital. Mr. Duncan was born July 21, 1911, in Alma, Mich., the son of George and Mina Elliot [sic, should read George Elliot] Duncan and had been a resident of Kalamazoo most of his life. He was a tool designer and was employed at Rapid Design Co., Grand Rapids. Mr. Duncan was a member of the Eastwood Church of God. He was married to Dorothy Irene Seybert on Oct. 31, 1931 [sic, should read 25 October], who passed away in Oct. of 1958. He was then married to Edith L. Terrell, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Miss Julie Ann, Kalamazoo; 4 sons, Robert E., Kalamazoo, Bud A., Vicksburg, Richard W., Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. And James of Portage; 9 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Friends are being received at the Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, where services will be held Friday at 2 o’clock, Rev. Harold Minkler officiating. Interment in the Riverside Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made to the Eastwood Church of God or Franklin Community Hospital.”

Richard worked as an engineer at Kennedy Space Center, and was a member and past president of the Jaycees. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joyce E. Duncan; sons, Randy E. and Jay W. Duncan; daughter Sandy I. Leighton; grandchildren, Christian and Evan Duncan; a sister, Julie Kley; and brothers, Robert E., Bud A.; and James L. Duncan. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 19th, at Florida Memorial Funeral Home. Private services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday January 20th, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Florida Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association. Flodia Meorial Funeral Home in Rockledge is entrusted with arrangements."
