Listed below are the descendants of Edward B. Trout, the son of John and Elizabeth (Ake) Trout.

In 1840 he could have been the "E Trout" enumerated as the head of household in Antis Township, Huntingdon County (or it was possibly Elizabeth, his mother as the head of household after John Trout's death). The household consisted of 1 male of twenty and under thirty years; 1 female of fifteen and under twenty years; 1 female of twenty and under thirty years; and 1 female of 60 and under 70 years (in either case Edward and his mother were probably both members of this 1840 household).
His family was first listed in the 1850 Federal Census of Bedford Township, Bedford County:
#85 91 Edward Trout 36 m Farmer 2800 " [Pa]In the 1860 Federal Census of Bedford Borough, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, enumerated on the 4th of June his household listed (all family members were born in Pennsylvania; all three children had attended school in the past year):

The children of Edward B. Trout and Margaret Ann Crisman were:
5.1.7.1 Sylvester Crisman Trout
was born in about 1845 in Pennsylvania. He served with Company A,
184th
Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment, his muster in date is listed as 12
May 1864, he was a Prisoner of War captured at the battle of Cold Harbor
and survived
Andersonville
Prison from about 22 June 1864 until he was exchanged on 1 April 1865.
13,000 Union soldiers died at Andersonville and are buried at the Andersonville
National Cemetery in Macon County, Georgia.
The Idaho Death Index 1911-1951 lists Sylvester's birth as 20 June 1844 and his date and place of death as 8 June 1921 in Boise, Ada County, Idaho. After his death, his widow, Clara R. Trout, did file for a pension in Idaho, the dates are impossible to read, however, the unit is clearly written as "A 184th Pa. Inf.". Clara is also listed in the Idaho Death Index 1911-1951, as "Caroline R. Trout", date of birth listed as 11 December 1844, date and place of death as 4 June 1935, Boise, Ada County, Idaho.
I have not located Sylvester in the 1870 census after the war. In 1880 he and his wife Sarah were enumerated in Burlingame Township, Osage County, Kansas, ED# 27, page 57C (the date was not recorded at the top of the page):

In 1910 Sylvester and Clara had relocated to Idaho. They were enumerated in Burley Precinct, Cassia County, Idaho ED# 112, sheet 7B in the 1910 Federal Census on the 3rd of May (Sylvester and "C. Rebecca" both stated that they had been married for 36 years; C. Rebecca stated that she had given birth to 8 living children):

Sylvester and his wife Rebecca were recorded, both at age 75, along with their daughter Emma, age 35, single, occupation teacher in a public school, in the 1920 Federal Census of Boise, Ada County, Idaho, ED# 15, sheet 5A on the 8th of January.
Their eight children were:
5.1.7.1 Mary M. Trout, was born in August 1875 in Virginia. Maggie or Mary M. as her name was recorded in 1900, married Harry C. Berryman (LDS lists his name as "Harrison Clay Berryman"). They were enumerated just a couple of households away from her parents in the 1900 Federal Census of Mission Creek Township, Wabaunsee County, Kansas, ED# 177, sheet 10B, enumerated on the 22nd and 23rd of June (Mary and Harry both stated that they had been married for 2 years; Mary also stated that she had given birth to 1 living child):#201 205 Berryman, Harry C. Trout, Sylvester Broth in law May 1880 20 Kansas Pennsylvania Maryland Farm laborerBy 1910 the Berryman's had followed her parents to Idaho. They were listed Burley Precinct, Cassia County, ED# 112, sheet 10B (the image is very faint, Mary and Harry both stated that they had been married for 11 years; Mary stated that she had given birth to 4 living children). Since the names and ages are so difficult to read, and there were no changes except for ages, I skipped forward ten years and transcribed the 1920 census. From the 1920 Federal Census of Burley Precinct No. 2, Cassia County, Idaho, ED# 270, sheet 7B, recorded on the 27th of February:

Harry was now 55 and continued to list his occupation as a farmer, Mary listed her age as 54. The children still living in the 1930 household were: Glenn, age 26; Sylvester, age 24; Sylvester's wife, Eileen, age 19, born in Iowa; Marguerite, age 16 and Clark, age 12. There children were:

5.1.7.1.4 Sylvester Berryman, was born in about 1905 in Kansas. LDS lists his name as "Thomas Sylvester Berryman".
5.1.7.1.5 Dwight Harrison Berryman, he does not appear in the 1910 census, Mary must have been close to giving birth when it was recorded. He is listed in the Idaho Death Index 1911-1951 (and in the LDS file), date of birth listed as 26 May 1910 date and place of death listed as 4 June 1912 in Burley, Cassia County, Idaho.
5.1.7.1.6 Marguerite Berryman, was born in about 1914 in Idaho.

5.1.7.2 Minnie Trout, a twin, was born in May 1878 in Illinois. In the 1910 Federal Census, Minnie and her sister Emma were boarding in the household of Walter and Minnie Rose in Hansen Precinct, Twin Falls County, Idaho, ED# 294, sheet 3A (date was not recorded--the girls ages and birthplace information was blank, they were probably not at home and the information was given by a Rose family member). Minnie and Emma's occupations were both listed as teachers.
5.1.7.3 Maud Trout, a twin, was born in May 1878 in Illinois.
5.1.7.4 Sylvester C. Trout, was born in May 1880 in Kansas. In the 1910 Federal Census of Mission Creek Township, Wabaunsee County, Kansas, ED# 138, sheet 4A, enumerated on the 25th of April his household listed (Sylvester and Eva J. both stated that they had been married for 6 years; Eva stated that she had given birth to 3 children, 2 of whom were still living):
#51 54 Trout, Sylvester C. Head 29 Kansas Ohio Pennsylvania [unreadable]

Ruby S. Daughter 3 Kansas Kansas PennsylvaniaTen years later in 1920, the Trout family was recorded in Wilmington Township, Wabaunsee County, Kansas, ED# 152, sheet 5B. Sylvester was age 39, occupation farmer, born in Kansas, father's birthplace correctly listed as Pennsylvania and mother's place of birth as Maryland. The remainder of the household consisted of his wife, Eva, age 40, daughters Opal, age 15, and Ruby who was now 12.
On April 9th, 1930 Sylvester C., age 49, and his wife, Evelyn J., age 50, were still living on their farm in Wilmington Township. Still living at home was their daughter Opal, age 25, single, she was working in a drugstore.

His occupation was listed as a farmer on a home farm. Wood's WW I Draft Registration listed the following information:
Trout, Wood LantzBy 1920 Wood had married and was living a household away from his younger brother Perry (see 1920 census data below). Wood listed his age as 33 and his occupation as a farmer. His wife Bertha M., was age 29, birthplace listed as Wisconsin, father place of birth as Norway and her mother's birthplace as Wisconsin. They had no children in 1920. In the 1930 Census, Wood and Bertha were still located in Burley Precinct, Cassia County, Idaho, ED# 19, sheet 3B, recorded on the 9-10th of April:

If Edward died in 1872 and is buried in Altoona, then he is probably the Edward Trout, age 21 in 1st Ward, Altoona, Blair County, boarding in the Rosanna Sisler household. He listed his occupation as a foreman in the R.R. shops.
