5.1.10.1 David Bartlebaugh  was born in about 1840 in Pennsylvania.  David is listed as having served in B Company, 3rd Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment, he enlisted on 20 April 1861.  He did return to Blair County and was married after the war to Lucinda Irvin, the daughter of Adie Franklin Irvin  and Annie Boyles (per his biography).  In the 1870 Federal Census, David and Lucinda had started a family of their own.  They were living adjacent to his parents in Logan Township, Post Office Tyrone, Blair County, Pennsylvania, recorded on the 29th of July (William and Jane Valentine were living in the previous household; all birthplaces were recorded as "Penna"):

In the 1880 Federal Census, D.S. and Lucinda Bartlebaugh were recorded in Logan Township, 2nd Part, Blair County, ED# 173, page 426C, recorded on the 8th of June (all five children had attended school in the past year; all birthplaces were recorded as "Penna"):

I could not locate David or Lucinda in the 1900 census.  Lucinda did file for a widow's pension, the first date is difficult to read, but looks like 1891, the second date is 22 Jan. 1900.  Lucinda was listed as widowed in the 1910 Federal Census of Altoona, 10th Ward, Blair County, ED# 67, sheet 13A, recorded on the 26th of April, address listed as 126 Sixth Avenue (Lucinda stated that she had given birth to 5 living children; all birthplaces were recorded as Pennsylvania)):

5.1.10.1.1 Harry H. Bartlebaugh, was born in about 1864 in Pennsylvania.  Harry was age 41 and unmarried in the 1910 census, listed in the household of his mother.


5.1.10.1.2 Fannie Bartlebaugh, was was born in about 1866 in Pennsylvania.  Fannie or Fanny was unmarried and listed in the household of her mother in the 1910 census at age 39.


5.1.10.1.3 Edith Bartlebaugh, was born in about 1868 in Pennsylvania.


5.1.10.1.4 Essie Bartlebaugh, was was born in October 1869 in Pennsylvania.


5.1.10.1.5 Clayton Bartlebaugh, was born in March 1873 in Pennsylvania.  Clayton had been married for about 1 year to Annie, she was age 27, birthdate listed as April 1873 in Pennsylvania, in the 1900 Federal Census of Altoona, 8th Ward, Blair County, Pennsylvania, ED# 65, sheet 5B, address 126 Third Avenue, recorded on the 4th of June.  He listed his occupation as a clerk for the railroad.  They are indexed in the 1910 Federal Census of Altoona, 10th Ward, Blair County, ED# 58, sheet 5B, address 207 East Fourth St., however, the image is so faint that I could barely read it.  Of the readable information, Clayton and Annie both stated that they had been married for 10 years and Annie stated that she had given birth to 3 children, 2 of whom were still living.

In 1920 Clayton and Annie were living in Altoona, 10th Ward, Blair County, ED# 75, sheet 14A, address 207 East Fourth Avenue, recorded on the 12th of January (all birthplaces were recorded as Pennsylvania):

5.1.10.4 Clara Jane Bartlebaugh, was born in about 1845 in Pennsylvania.  In 1867 Clara Jane Bartlebaugh married Robert Vandevander , son of John and Prudence Vandevander.  John and Prudence Vandevander are listed in the 1850 and 1860 Federal censuses of Brady Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania.  Robert served in Company A, 20th Regiment Pennsylvania Calvary, from 16 June 1863 to 6 January 1864, he was a corporal at the time of his dischgarge in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  Robert and Clara were first listed in the 1870 Federal Census of Altoona, 1st Ward, Post Office Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania, recorded on the 13th of June (all family members were born in Pennsylvania):
