The information below was compiled from various records.  William Harrison was the son of Nimrod and Mary Harrison and a grandson of Kinsey Harrison, Sr. and Sarah Saffell.

3.7.1.1 James L. Harrison, was born in March 1851 in Maryland.  Unmarried through the 1900 census, not located in the 1910 census.  His obituary dated 13 August 1904:


3.7.1.2 John Harrison, was born in about 1853 in Maryland and died before 1900.  In 1880 John and his wife Margaret R. were enumerated in Woodville, Carroll County, Maryland, ED# 91, page 18B.  John listed his occupation as a carpenter, they had one daughter, Ethel, age 3 months, born in February.  In the 1900 Federal Census of Second Precinct, Baltimore County, Maryland, ED# 20, sheet 20B, Margaret was a widow (she stated that she had given birth to 4 living children; all birthplaces were recorded as Maryland):

3.7.1.2.1 Ethel M. Harrison, was born in September 1879 in Maryland.


3.7.1.2.2 Joseph W. Harrison, was born in September 1881 in Maryland.  Joseph and his wife, Olivia, were recorded in 1st District, Baltimore County, Maryland, ED# 1, sheet 1A in the 1910 Federal Census (Joseph and Olivia both stated that they had been married for 7 years; Olivia stated that she had given birth to 5 children, 3 of whom were still living; all birthplaces were listed as Maryland, except for Olivia who stated that she and her parents were born in North Carolina):

3.7.1.2.3 Clinton E. Harrison, was born in March 1884 in Maryland.  I could not locate Clinton in the 1910 Federal Census.  In the 1920 Federal Census, Clinton and his wife Adelia, were recorded in Baltimore City, ED# 361, sheet 9B (all birthplaces were recorded as Maryland):

In the 1930 Federal Census of Baltimore City, 13th Ward, Maryland, ED# 201, sheet 12B, Clinton's name was crossed out and written in the column for occupation was written "lives elsewhere", his age was listed as 43 and his occupation was listed as a window cleaner.  The remainder of the household consisted of (Della was originally listed as "wife", it was  crossed out and written above was "head", all birthplaces were recorded as Maryland--except for Elizabeth who listed her mother's birthplaces as Delaware):

3.7.1.2.4 John W. Harrison, was born in March 1887 in Maryland.  John W., age 23 and his wife, Hilda F., age 21, with their daughter, Margaret, age 1 year and 8 months, were recorded in the 1910 Federal census of Baltimore City, 21st Ward, ED# 357, sheet 6B.  John listed his occupation as a laborer in a paint shop.  In the 1920 Federal Census of Baltimore City, 19th Ward, ED# 325, sheet 5B, their household listed:

3.7.1.3 Nathan B. Harrison, was born on 31 May 1855 in Maryland and died on 9 August 1888, he is buried in Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery, in Frederick County, Maryland.  He apparently did marry before his death in 1888, the top of his marker reads, "My Husband".  There was also a marker for Harry G. Harrison, son of NB and Anna Harrison, born Jan 31 1883, died Sept 29 1888.


George W. and Lottie E. Harrison

3.7.1.4 George W. Harrison, was born in April 1859 in Maryland and died in 1923.  George and his wife Lottie, she died in 1955, are both buried in Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery.  George was the excutor of his father's will in 1891.  In the 1900 Federal Census George and his wife Lottie were enumerated in Mount Airy, District 13, Carroll County, Maryland, ED# 139, sheet 1A (George and Lottie both stated that they had been married for 13 years; Lottie stated that she had given birth to 3 children, 2 of whom were still living; all birthplaces were recorded as Maryland):

In the 1910 Federal Census of Mounty Airy, Carroll County, Maryland, ED# 93, sheet 1B, George and Lottie both stated that they had been married for 23 years, Lottie again stated that she had given birth to 3 children, 2 of whom were still living.  Both their sons were still at home in 1910, Chester L. was age 21 and had no occupation listed, both George and his son Norman G., age 17, listed their occupations as house carpenters.

In the 1920 Federal Census of Mount Airy, Carroll County, Maryland, ED# 82, sheet 4A, George W., age 60, Lottie E., age 52 and Chester L., age 31 were listed in the same household on Buffalo Road (Chester was unmarried and had no occupation listed).  Just one household away was the household of the son Norman:

In the 1930 Federal Census, Lottie wasa widowed, she and Chester were again enumerated one household away from her son, Norman (1930 Federal Census of Mounty Airy, ED# 28, sheet 6A).  Lottie was age 52 (again!) and Chester was age 41.  Lottie's obituary appeared in the Frederick News on 12 December 1955:

Mrs. Lottie E. Harrison

"Mrs. Lottie E. Harrison a life long resident of Mt. Airy, died Sunday at 12:30 p.mp. at Frederick Memorial hospital at the age of 88.  Daughter of the late Benjamin and Sarah [Harrison] Hood, her husband predeceased her by several years.  Her only survivors other than nieces and nephews are four grandchildren: Miss Ruth Harrison, Frederick; Mrs. Wilford Fleming, Mt. Airy, and Mrs. Roby Fleming, Taylorsville; and a number of grandchildren.  The body is at the Winfield funeral home where friends may call from 7-10 p.m. Tuesday and where services will be held Wednesday, conducted by Rev. W. DeWitt Dickey of the Calvary Methodist Church, Mt. Airy, at 2 p.m.  Interment in Prospect Cemetery, near Mt. Airy, C.M. Waltz, funeral director."

3.7.1.4.1 Chester L. Harrison, was born in December 1888 in Maryland and died in 1936, he is buried in Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery in Frederick County, Maryland.

3.7.1.4.2 Norman G. Harrison, was born in July 1892 in Maryland and died in 1951, he is buried in Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery in Frederick County, Maryland.  His 1930 household in Mounty Airy, Carroll County, Maryland, ED# 28, sheet 6A listed:

3.7.1.5 Rhoda E. Harrison, was born in August 1861 in Maryland and died in 1941.  She married John W. Condon, in Carroll County, Maryland on 3 February 1887, he was born in 1861 and died in 1937.  They are both buried in Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery in Frederick County, Maryland.  Her obituary dated 2 January 1942:

"Mrs. Rhoda E. Condon, widow of John W. Condon, died at two o’clock, Wednesday morning at her home in Mt. Airy, aged 80 years, four months and 21 days.  A daughter of the late William and Jane Harrison, she is survived only by one daughter, Mrs. Eva M. Butler, who made her home with her mother.  Funeral services today at three o’clock at the late home in charge of Rev. Leon P.F. Vauthier.  Interment in Prospect Methodist cemetery near Mt. Airy.  C.M. Waltz, funeral director."

3.7.1.5.1 Eva M. Condon Butler, was born in 1888 and died in 1957:

"Mrs. Eva M. Butler, 68, a resident of Mt. Airy for 35 years, died at her home Tuesday at 3 p.m.  Born in Carroll County she was daughter of John W. and Rhoda Harrison Condon.  Four children survive Mrs. Butler, Leon Butler, Washington; Mrs. Charles Troxell and Mrs. Ralph Layton, Frederick; Mrs. Irving Burdette, Damascus.  Also ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  The body is at the funeral home in Winfield, where services will be held Friday at 2 p.m.  Interment will be in Prospect cemetery near Mt. Airy.  Rev. W. Dewitt Dickey, pastor of Calvary Methodist Church at Mt. Airy will officiate.  Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 10 p.m.  C.M. Waltz funeral director."


3.7.1.6 Laura Virginia Harrison, was born in April 1869 in Maryland and died in 1929.  She married Lucian Oscar Runkles on 20 March 1889, he was born in February 1864 and died in 1946.  They are both buried in Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery in Frederick County, Maryland.

3.7.1.6.1 Mabel or Mable V. Runkles, was born in June 1890.  Mabel married William E. Rimbey, his obituary from the Frederick News, dated 4 June 1962:

"William E. Rimbey, 70, lifelong resident of Mt. Airy, died suddenly Saturday morning at his home on Carroll ave.  Surviving are his wife, Mable V. Runkles Rimbey; three sons, Edward and William Mt. Airy, and Willard E., RFD 4, Westminster; seven sisters and one brother.  Mrs. Elsie J. Flohr, Ellicott City; Mrs. Amanda Sherman, Mrs. Irene R. Main, Mrs. Harry Flair, Mrs. Hattie Norwood, and Mrs. Florence Driver, Mt. Airy; Norman M. Rimby, Woodlawn; seven grandchildren.  He was a retired B&O Railroad engineer, a member of Prospect Methodist Church, a member of the Mt. Airy VFD, a past Grand of the IOOF, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Odd Fellows Home in Frederick.  He was a member of Millington Lodge 166, AF & AM and a member of the Tall Cedars.  Funeral Services will be held Tuesday from Prospect Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m.  Rev. E.A. Frink will officiate, and interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy.  Friends may call at the C.M. Waltz funeral home Winfield, Monday, 7-10 p.m."

3.7.1.6.2 Hallie M. Runkles, was born on 6 April 1892 and died in December 1984 in Ellicott City, Howard County, Maryland (SSN# Death Index).  Her marriage announcement dated 11 April 1912, from the Frederick Evening Post:

"Miss Hallie Runkles, daughter of Lucian Runkles, of near Mount Airy, and Charles W. Hilleary, of Baltimore, were married Tuesday at the home of the bride.  The groom is in the employ of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad."
Hallie and Charles were living in Baltimore City, Ward 19, ED# 331, sheet 8A, in the 1920 Federal Census.  Charles was age 29 and listed his occupation as a fireman for the railroad.  Hallie was age 27, they had one daughter, Virginia M., age 4 months (recorded on 7 January).

In the 1930 Federal Census of Baltimore City, Ninth Ward, ED# 4, sheet 8A, Charles (last name spelled "Hillery") was age 39 and employed as an engineer for the railroad; Hallie was age 37 and busy with daughter Virginia age 10 and son Charles, age 5 (street address listed as 640 Dumbarton Ave.).


3.7.1.6.3 Helen V. Runkles, was born in about 1901 in Maryland.  Helen married William E. Clark.  In the 1930 Federal Census of Woodville District, Carroll County, Maryland, ED# 2, sheet 2B, they had one son, William E., age 5 years.  William, Sr., a farmer and Helen both listed their ages as 30, they both also stated that they were married at age 22 (in about 1922).
