Gorsline, was born in about 1847 in Indiana (his age is unreadable in the 1850 census of Root Township, Adams County, Indiana; age is again unreadable in the 1860 census of Wakeshma Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan; age 23 in the 1870 census of Wakeshma Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, still living in the household of his parents).
(1.3.7.2) Benjamin "Frank" Gorsline, born in September 1853, in Adams County, Indiana and died in 1919 (his name was recorded as "Benjamin F.", age 7 in the 1860 census of Wakeshma Township, Kalamazoo County; "Frank" in the 1870-1910 censuses). He is buried in North Fulton Cemetery, in Fulton, Michigan. He married Anna M. (unknown) in 1881. Anna was born in May 1863 in Ohio and died in 1954. She is also buried in North Fulton Cemetery . Their children were:
(1.3.7.2.1) Ray Gorsline, was born in January 1883, in Kalamazoo County, Michigan. He married Carrie, she was born on 18 September 1885 and died on 24 July 1949. She is buried in North Fulton Cemetery. Their children, from cemetery and census records, were:(1.3.7.2.1.1) Baby daughter Gorsline, was born and died in 1905, she is buried in North Fulton Cemetery.(1.3.7.2.2) Estus L. Gorsline, was born on 18 June 1885 and died on 23 December 1887. She is buried in North Fulton Cemetery.
(1.3.7.2.1.2) Walter C. Gorsline, was born in about 1909 in Michigan. He was age 21, single and living in the household of his parents in 1930. Walter is listed in both the Florida Death Index and the SSN# Index, date of birth listed as 6 November 1908, date of death 22 April 1989, place of issue Michigan, place of death, Pasco, Florida.
(1.3.7.2.1.3) Leo Ray Gorsline, was born in 1910 and died in 1923. He is buried in North Fulton Cemetery.
(1.3.7.2.1.4) Bertha G. Gorsline, was born in about 1917 (she was age 13 in the 1930 census). She is buried in North Fulton Cemetery.
(1.3.7.2.1.5) Annabelle Gorsline, was born in about 1921 (age 9 in the 1930 census) in Michigan and died on 24 June 1933. She is buried in North Fulton Cemetery.
(1.3.7.2.3) Floyd Gorsline, was born in November 1889, in Kalamazoo County, Michigan.
(1.3.7.2.4) Bertha Gorsline, was born in September 1890, in Kalamazoo County, Michigan.
(1.3.7.2.5) Bernard Gorsline, was born on 1 August 1893, in Michigan--that is if you believe the 1900 census or he was born in Nebraska if you believe the subsequent 1910-1930 census' (1910 Federal Census, Wakeshma Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, ED# 166, sheet 4B) and died in January 1966 (SSN# Death Index). Bernard was single and listed as the head of household in the 1920 Federal Census of Wakeshma Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, ED# 195, sheet 11B. He listed his age as 26, born in Nebraska, occupation "vetenary" [sic, veterinary] general practice.

"Mrs. Bernie Gorsline"Bernie Gorsline also fathered a son before his marriage to Gertrude Shaneyfelt:VICKSBURG - Mrs. Gertrude (Shaneyfelt) Gorline, 78, of 514 E. State St., and formerly of Mendon, died Thursday in Sturgis Hospital.
She was born in Jay County, Ind. and moved from Mendon to Vicksburg in 1966. She was a member of the West Mendon United Methodist Church and its Faith Circle.
Her husband, Bernie Gorsline, preceeded her in death.
She is survived by daughters Mrs. John (Vivian) Shock, of Three Rivers and Mrs. James (Leona) Gose of Vicksburg; a son, Leo Gorsline of Vicksburg; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Eickhoff Funeral Home, Mendon."(1.3.7.1.5.1) Carl Kenneth Gorsline, born on 13 May 1913 in Fulton, Wakeshma, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Carl died on 8 June 1977 at Lakeview General Hospital, in Battle Creek, Michigan, he is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, in Galesburg, Michigan (his obituary). Carl's mother was Mina Daniels, she later married Curtis McElvaine, in 1930 she had remarried and was enumerated as Mina Ford in Richland Township with Carl's half brother's and sisters.The known children of Bernie and Gertude Gorsline were (from census records and Gertrude's obituary):
(1.3.7.1.5.2) Vivian Gorsline, was born in about 1921 in Michigan. She is listed as: "Mrs. Roy (Viola) Dorey, of Battle Creek" in her step-brother's, Carl's 1977 obituary. In her sister, Leona's obituary in 1999 she is listed as Vivian Shock.
(1.3.7.2.5.3) Leona Rae Gorsline, was born in about 1923 in Michigan. Leona married James M. "Jim" Gose on 5 February 1947 in Mendon. Jim died on 10 June 1999. Leona died on 23 September 1999 (from her obituary).
(1.3.7.2.5.4) Leo M. Gorsline
was born in about 1926 in Michigan. He is listed as "Leo Gorsline of Fulton" in his brother, Carl's obituary in 1977. Leo M. Gorsline is listed in the Michigan Death Index 1971-1996, date of birth listed as 21 September 1925, date of death listed as 17 June 1987, place of death Vicksburg, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, residence at death Wakeshma Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan. His obituary appeared in the Battle Creek Enquirer on 19 June 1987:
"Leo M. Gorsline"FULTON - Leo M. Gorsline, 61 of 14395 S. 40th Street, died Wednesday in his home after a long illness.
He was a lifelong area resident. He was employed by Rieth-Riley Construction Co. Inc. in Battle Creek, until ill health forced his retirement. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church, and was an army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, the former Jackie Bartley; a son, Alex Gorsline, of Gainesville, Ga.; a daughter, Bonnie Wank, of East Leroy; sisters, Leona Gose of Vicksburg and Vivian Shock of Three Rivers; and four grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. at Rupert-Durham Funeral Home, Vicksburg. Memorial donations may be made to the TB and Emphysema Association."
(1.3.7.3) Emma or Elna Gorsline, was born in about 1858 in Michigan (1860 and 1870 census of Wakeshma, Township, Kalamazoo County Michigan).
