Listed below are the descendants of of Jeremiah Roe III.   Jeremiah was the son of Jeremiah Roe II.

The children of Jeremiah Roe III and Mary "Polly" Hill were:


(1.3.4.1) Joseph Roe, born and died in 1842, in Root Township, Adams County, Indiana.  He died at the age of six months.


(1.3.4.2) Elizabeth "Libby" Roe, born on 9 August 1843, in Root Township, Adams County, Indiana and died on 2 March 1873, in Kalamazoo County, Michigan.  She is buried in North Fulton Cemetery, in Wakeshma Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.  She married James Henry "Henry" Stilwell, he was born on 10 October 1840, in Ohio and died on 13 August 1906, in Banner Township, Woodbury County, Iowa.  Henry is buried in Lincoln Township Cemetery, in Hinton, Plymouth County, Iowa.  He was the son of  David Basil Stilwell and Mary Ann Farnsworth. Their children were:

(1.3.4.2.1) Richard Warren Stilwell, born on 12 March 1866, in Kalamazoo County, Michigan and died on 10 June 1956, in Hinton, Plymouth County, Iowa.  He was buried on 13 June 1956, in Banner Township Cemetery, in Woodbury County, Iowa.  He married Emma Heinrich on 30 May 1902, in Plymouth County, Iowa.  Emma was born on 9 November 1880 and died on 8 December 1953, in Lawton, Woodbury County, Iowa.  She is also buried in Banner Township Cemetery.  Emma was the daughter of Adam Heinrich and Wilhelmina Wand.  Emma was a sister of Clara Heinrich (the wife of 15.10.8) Cyrus Michael Harrison.  Their children were:
(1.3.4.2.1.1) Lester Stilwell, born on 25 May 1903, in Union Township, Plymouth County, Iowa and died on 31 March 1988, in Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa.  He married Letha Powers on 5 February 1931, in Aurelia, Cherokee County, Iowa.  Their children are: Lewis Stilwell; Ronald Stilwell; Shirley Stilwell Bexton; and Jerry Stilwell.


(1.3.4.2.1.2) Clarence Stilwell, born on 5 May 1905, in Union Township, Plymouth County, Iowa and died in June 1994, in Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa.  Clarence was married and had two daughters.


(1.3.4.2.1.3) Minnie M. Stilwell, born on 8 January 1907, in Banner Township, Woodbury County, Iowa and died on 22 April 1995, in Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa.  She is buried in Melbourne Cemetery in Merrill, Iowa.  She married Elvin Erhard Heldon on 20 August 1927, in Sioux City, Iowa.  Elvin was born on 27 October 1904, in Hinton, Iowa and died on 23 November 1986, in LeMars, Plymouth County, Iowa.  Elvin was the son of John Held and Charlotte Raven, the grandson of Erhard Held, Jr. and Elizabeth Winter.  They had two children: Evelyn Held Saunders and Donald Held.


(1.3.4.2.1.4) Orville E. Stilwell, born on 19 December 1908, in Banner Township, Woodbury County, Iowa and died on 17 December 1967, in Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa.  He was buried on 20 December 1967, in Banner Township Cemetery.


(1.3.4.2.1.5) Pearl M. Stilwell, born on 15 May 1910, in Banner Township, in Woodbury County, Iowa and died in 1996, in Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa.  She married Albert Ellison on 30 September 1936.  They had two sons: Garry Ellison and Richard Ellison.


(1.3.4.2.1.6) Howard Stilwell, born on 6 September 1912 in Banner Township, Woodbury County, Iowa and died on 15 December 1993, in Sioux City, Iowa.  He married (1st) Fern Ellison, they had two sons: Loren and Dennis Stilwell.  Howard married (2nd) Velura.


(1.3.4.2.2) Effie Stilwell, born in December 1869, in Kalamazoo County, Michigan and died in 1895.  She is buried in North Fulton Cemetery, in Kalamazoo County, Michigan.  She married (unknown) Gould.

His two daughters by his second wife, Polly were:

(1.3.4.2.3) Lillie M. Stillwell, was born in January 1877 in Michigan (1900 Federal Census of Perry Township, Plymouth County, Iowa, ED# 108, sheet 9B).


(1.3.4.2.4) Emma Delina Stilwell, born on 13 October 1879, in Kalamazoo County, Michigan and died on 21 Dec 1901, in Perry Township, Plymouth County, Iowa.  She is buried in Lincoln Township Cemetery, in Hinton, Iowa (she committed suicide when her lover left her).


(1.3.4.3) Alexander Roe, born in October 1844, in Ft. Wayne, Adams County, Indiana and died on 31 January 1921, in Wakeshma Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.  He is buried in South Fulton Cemetery, in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  He married Frances L. Barnes on 18 April 1867.  She was born in 1847 in Kalamazoo County, Michigan and died in 1929.  She is also buried in South Fulton Cemetery.  Their children were:

(1.3.4.3.1) Jessie Roe, born in December 1869, in Kalamazoo County, Michigan and died in 1954, she is buried in North Fulton Cemetery.  Jessie married Artemus "Art" Arthur Gould on 8 March 1890, in Vicksburg, Michigan.  "Arthur" was born in November 1867 and died in 1945.  Their children were:
(1.3.4.3.1.1) Grace Gould, was born in December 1891 in Michigan.  Grace married Everett Skidmore.  "Gracie" and Everett were enumerated in the 1930 Federal Census of Augusta, Ross Township, Kalamazoo, County, ED# 52, sheet 1B.  Everett listed his age as 39, Gracie was 38.  Everett was employed as a chauffeur for the Veterans Bureau.  They had one son in 1930, Dale, age 8, born in Michigan.


(1.3.4.3.1.2) Mildred Gould, was born in September 1897 in Michigan, she married (unknown) Campbell.


(1.3.4.3.1.3) Forrest "Uncle Ray" Gould, was born in about 1901 in Michigan.  He married Christa Hoover.  "Forest" and Christa were enumerated in the 1930 Federal Census of Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan, ED# 67, sheet 13B.  They had 1 daughter in 1930, Kathryn, age 3 years and 3 months.  He listed his occupation as a high school teacher, also listed in the 1930 household was his sister, Bernice, she listed her occupation as a grade school teacher.


(1.3.4.3.1.4) Bernice Gould, was born on 13 July 1905 and died on 1 February 1998, she is buried in North Fulton Cemetery, Wakeshma Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.  She married Charles Osborne (after 1930).


(1.3.4.3.1.5) Leslie Roland Gould, born on 11 August 1909, he married Lola Irene Harrison, daughter of Lyman Harrison, granddaughter of Eli Harrison, great granddaughter of Jeremiah "Wig" Harrison, and great great granddaughter of (15.8) Alexander Harrison I.


(1.3.4.3.2) Early "Earl" Commodore Roe, was born in May 1875 in Michigan (1900 Federal Census of Battle Creek Township, Calhoun County, Michigan) and died in 1958 (he did not use Early as his first name but used either Earl or "E. C."; his marker lists his birth as 1874).  He is buried in Prairie Home Cemetery, in Climax, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.  He was working for the "R.R." in 1900.  He married (1st) Flora Dean in about 1896 they had four children (Flora stated in the 1900 census that she had given birth to 3 children, two of whom were still living; ten years later she stated that she had given birth to 4 children, 3 of whom were still living):
(1.3.4.3.2.1) Nellie Roe, was born in May 1898 in Michigan.


(1.3.4.3.2.2) Bertha Roe, was born in March 1900 in Michigan.


(1.3.4.3.2.3) Deo Earl Roe, was born in about 1903.


Flora had remarried by 1910 (1910 Federal Census of Brady Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan) she and her (2nd) husband, Harrison Sowler, both stated that they had been married for 1 year.  All three of her children from her (1st) marriage were listed in the 1910 household.  Her father, John Dean was also listed in the 1910 household as was Flora's step-mother, Hattie Dean.

Earl married (2nd) Blanche R. Young, in about 1909 (1910 Federal Census of Battle Creek City, 5th Ward, Calhoun County, Michigan; Blanche also stated that this was her second marriage; Blanche died in 1923 and is also listed in the transcription of Prairie Home Cemetery) they had one son:

(1.3.4.3.2.4) Alvin "Johnny" Everett Roe, was born in 1917.
In 1910 Earl listed his occupation as an engineer for the railroad.  In 1920 he listed his occupation as a "steam fitter" in the "R.R. shops".  After Blanche's death in 1923, he married (3rd) his (1st) wife, Flora, for the second time, which wasn't any better than the first time.

Earl then married (4th) Florence Keet Harrison, the widow of Willis "Denver" Harrison.  In the 1930 Federal Census, Earl and his 4th wife, Florence, son Alvin E., age 12, and his 19 year old step-daughter, Hazel Harrison, were all living in Climax Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan where he had taken up farming.


(1.3.4.3.3) Floyd Roe, was born and died in 1887.


(1.3.4.3.4) Elva "Elvie" Roe, born in 1888.  She married Claud E. Kindy.  Elva and Claud were first listed in the 1910 Federal Census of Wakeshma Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, ED# 166, sheet 6A (next door to Melvin and Lizzie Roe).  They both stated that they had been married for 2 years, they had no children in 1910.  In 1920 they were living in Battle Creek City, Calhoun County, Michigan, ED# 58, sheet 13A.  Claud was working as a pipe fitter for the railroad, they had one son, Lynn, age 7.  In 1930 they were again enumerated in Battle Creek City, Calhoun County, Michigan, ED# 26, sheet 8B.  Lynn Kindy was now seventeen and "Claude" was working as a steam fitter for the railroad.  Their son was:

(1.3.4.3.4.1) Lynn E. Kindy, was born in about 1912 in Michigan.  Lynn Kindy is listed in the Michigan Death Index 1971-1996, date of birth listed as 4 November 1912, date of death listed as 29 January 1979 in Escanaba, Delta County, Michigan, residence at death listed as Masonville, Delta County, Michigan.  his obituary appeared in the Escanaba Daily Press on 30 January 1979, page 8:
Lynn E. Kindy

"RAPID RIVER--Lynn E. Kindy, 66, of Rte. 1, Rapid River (Masonville) died suddenly Monday, Jan. 29, of an apparent heart attack.
    He was born in Athens, Mich. and spent most of his life in Battle Creek before moving to Masonville in July of 1969.
    He was a commercial pilot and, after attending Houghton Tech. became chief instructor of pilot training at Michigan State University during World War II.
    Mr. Kindy developed and operated the first parking lot in Battle Creek and also managed the Marshall Airport at Marshall, Mich.  He later became a registered broker for Fahnstock and Co., a brokerage firm, from which he retired in 1969.
    He was a member of Bedford Masons, Gladstone Yacht Club and Gladstone Golf Club, where he served as a board member.
    Surviving are his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Mrs. James (Kay) Gleeson of Troy; a son, Kenneth of battle Creek, and four granddaughters.
    Funeral arrangements are tentatively set for Thursday.  The Anderson-Johns Funeral Home in Gladstone is in charge."

(1.3.4.3.5) Edgar M. Simmons, was born in November 1869 in Michigan and died in 1937.  He is buried in Prairie Home Cemetery in Climax, Kalamazoo County, Michigan (Edgar was raised by the family and considered a son, although he probably wasn't legally adopted).  Edgar married Nellie M. Fenwick in about 1896.  Nellie was born in 1876 and died in 1971, she was the sister of Ira Fenwick, who married two of Margaret Harrison VanDeBogart's daughters.  Their children were (from both the 1910 Federal Census of Leroy Township, Calhoun County, Michigan, ED# 64, sheet 7B and the 1920 Federal Census of Climax Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, ED# 143, sheet 13B):

(1.3.4.3.5.2) Ward E. Simmons, was born in about 1902 in Michigan.


(1.3.4.3.5.3) Olive M. Simmons, was born in about 1908 In Michigan.


(1.3.4.3.5.4) Mildred M. Simmons, was 3 months old in April 1910.


(1.3.4.3.5.5) Richard M. Simmons, was born in about 1915 in Michigan.


(1.3.4.4) Mary Em "Mary" Roe, born on 18 January 1846, in Ft. Wayne, Adams County, Indiana and died on 12 January 1909, in Banner Township, Woodbury County, Iowa.  She is buried in Lincoln Township Cemetery.  She married (15.8.8) Alexander Jordan "Alec" Harrison II  on 14 February 1864, in Wakeshma Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.


(1.3.4.5) Jeremiah Roe IV, born in March 1853, in Adams County, Indiana and died in 1939, in Kalamazoo County, Michigan.  He is buried in Harrison Cemetery, in Climax Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.  He married Louisa Burr in about 1880.  Louisa was born in April 1861, in New York and died in 1945.  She is also buried in Harrison Cemetery.  Louisa was the daughter of Fred and Minnie Burr (both German immigrants, her parents were living with Jerry and Louisa in the 1900 census, Fred and Minnie Burr both stated that they immigrated to the U.S. in 1854).  Their two children were:

(1.3.4.5.1) Vern Alexander "Vernie" Roe, born in July 1886, in Kalamazoo County, Michigan and died in 1963.  He is buried in Harrison Cemetery, in Climax Township, Michigan.  Vernie was special.


 (1.3.4.5.2) Blanche Roe, born in September 1892, in Kalamazoo County, Michigan and died in 1908, in Kalamazoo County, Michigan.  She is also buried in Harrison Cemetery.
