died 1809 Henry County Virginia. He was the son of
John Marshall of Mecklenburg County Virginia. He married Cassandra Alfriend. She died 1821 Henry County. Samuel & Cassandra moved from Mecklenburg County VA. Samuel was Justice of Mecklenburg County Virginia in 1768 and was one of a number of militia officers recommended by the Mecklenburg Co Court to the government of Virginia, 13 October 1777. He was named Captain of the 6th Co. 2nd Btln, and took the oath, 12 Jan 1778 (Mecklenburg order book 4, p374) Reported to have been at the surrender of Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown.
His will is recorded Henry County, WB2, pg 168,190 and named the following children:
