was born 1855 in Moniteau Co MO and died 1946 in Healdton, OK. He married Martha Ann Nance daughter of Elias B. Nance & Agnes Ince. Samuel was a farmer by trade. Some time prior to 1894, Samuel moved his family into Indian Territory in a communit called Shay, present day Madill, OK. At one time, the area had a store, cotton gin, post office and school. Their young son, Ott, was accidently killed as a young boy in a hunting accident. By 1910, Samuel, age 56 and Martha, age 51, were living in Marshall County OK, with their son Sam E. 29, and daughters Pearl 16, and Ester 14.
