First wife, Elizabeth, daughter of John and Hannah McDonald, was born in Washington Co., Pa., Oct. 26, 1846, and died in Wirt October 30, 1879. He has one child by this marriage, Samuel, born July 26, 1868. Second wife, Eliza, dau. of Henry Windland, in Steele district, Wood County, June 22, 1880. She born in Monroe Co., Ohio. They have one child, Dan H., born May 22, 1881. Served in late war in 6th Pa. Cavalry. Morris, one of the best known citizens of Washington County, died at an early hour this morning at his home in Lower Salem, where he had lived for 24 years. Death was due to a complication of troubles and followed an illness extending over a period of three years. Mr. Morris was past 69 years of age at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife and four children, Don H. of Lower Salem; James G. of Parkersburg, WVA; Mrs. P.L. Thomas of Lower Salem; and Mrs. T.E. Smith of Alluwe, Okla. Funeral Services will be held friday morning at 10 O'clock, from the Universalist Church at Lower Salem. He was engaged there for several years in the milling business. Relinquishing that, he returned and married Elizabeth McDonnal. From her obituary: Not sure what paper but it appears to be Elizabeth, "... With him with whom she had cast her lot, they took up their abode in Hillsdale County, Michigan, where they united with the Wesleyan Methodist Church, of which they were consistent members, when they removed to this place, in April, 1875, and there being no church of that denomination here, she with her husband, began to look for a religious home.
