November 17052,3.  He married MARIE L'HOMME November 18, 1680 in Sts-Anges-de-Lachine, Quebec, Canada4, daughter of MICHEL L'HOMME and MARIE VALADE.  She was born November 10, 1663 in Chateau-Richer, Quebec, Canada5, and died Aft. November 23, 17056.

 

Notes for NICOLAS OZANNE:

In Volume 1, Tanguay has the parents of Nicolas OZANNE as Louis OZANNE and Marie DENOT.  I have used Andre and Louise, as given by Jette.

JF  3.  PIERRE3 DOZA (NICOLAS2 OZANNE, ANDRE1) was born March 29, 1682 in Lachine, Quebec, Canada11.  He married MARGUERITE GIGNARD November 23, 1705 in Lachine, Quebec, Canada11, daughter of LAURENT GIGNARD and MARIE MORIN.  She was born April 25, 1686 in L'Ange-Gardien, Quebec, Canada12.

 

Notes for PIERRE DOZA:

It is possible that these are children of different families, as indicated by the last name recorded on the birth entries from the Canadian records.  At the very least, however, "Joseph Noel DAUZAR" born in 1718, and Antoine Dozat were brothers.  Noel Joseph DOZA married Josephe PELTIER on Aug 19 1755 in Kaskaskia.  See Kaskaskia Under the French Regime, p. 91.

 

I believe that Pierre OZANNE and Pierre DAUZAR may have been the same person, but that is simply based on the fact that they were both married to Margerite GIGNARD.

 

I have found no record of the birth of Antoine DOZAT.  There is clearly room for error here.

JF  5.  MARIE-ROSE5 DOZAT (ANTOINE4, PIERRE3 DOZA, NICOLAS2 OZANNE, ANDRE1) was born Abt. 1747 in Illinois26,27, and died March 15, 180728.  She married PHILIPPE WISSE June 04, 1769 in St. Francis Church, Pointe Coupee Parish, LA29, son of NICOLAS WISSE and MAGDELEINE PINTER.  He was born March 20, 174229, and died August 27, 1814 in St. Martinville, LA30.

 

Children of MARIE-ROSE DOZAT and PHILIPPE WISSE are given in “Descendants of Jean WISSE.”
