     Edward Aaron Jones was born circa 1834 at Wells, Norfolk England; and was referred to as of 'Hatton Garden.^4,1,5,3' He was the son of James Isaiah Jones and Julia Levander.¹ Edward Aaron Jones appeared on the census of 6 June 1841 at South Lynn, Kings Lynn, Norfolk England, as Edw Jones, age 7, birthplace Norfolk.⁶ He appeared on the census of 30 March 1851 at Wensum Street, Norwich, Norfolk England, as Son, age 17, birthplace Wells, Norfolk, and he was a 'Working Optician.⁴' He appeared on the census of 2 April 1871 at 7 Bedford Square, Mile End Old Town, London England, as Head, unmarried, age 37, birthplace Lynn, Norfolk, and he was a Jet Merchant and Manufacturer.⁷ He appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 at 93 Hatton Garden, London England, as Head, unmarried, age 48, birthplace Lynn, Norfolk, and he was a Jet Ornament Manufacturer.² He was New Tag listed as E A Jones, one of the 'Donors to the Society for Relieving the Aged Needy 1891'. Also listed at same address was his sister, Miss C Jones in 1891 at 93 Hatton Garden, London England.⁸ He appeared on the census of 5 April 1891 at 93 Hatton Garden, London England, as Head, unmarried, age 57, birthplace Kings Lynn, Norfolk, and he was an employer and an 'Art Jeweller (Gold).⁹' He appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at 32 Argyle Square, St Pancras, London England, as Head, unmarried, age 67, birthplace Lynn, Norfolk, and he was a Jet Jeweller.¹⁰ He died on 29 January 1915 at Royal Free Hospital, Grays Inn Road, London England; and his death was recorded at Pancras Registration district in the March quarter 1915.^11,12 His estate was probated on 17 March 1915; and The 1915 National Probate Calendar records:

     Hannah Jones was born circa 1824 at Wells, Norfolk England.^3,1,4 She was the daughter of James Isaiah Jones and Julia Levander.¹ Hannah Jones appeared on the census of 6 June 1841 at South Lynn, Kings Lynn, Norfolk England, as Hanh Jones, age 15, birthplace Norfolk.⁵ She appeared on the census of 30 March 1851 at Wensum Street, Norwich, Norfolk England, as Daughter, unmarried, age 27, birthplace Wells, Norfolk, and she was a Governess.⁶ She married an unknown person circa 1852; It is unclear at present whether the announcement that one of the daughters of James Isaiah Jones married D Elias relates to her or her sister.⁷

     Henry Jones was born circa 1806; in Middlesex.^1,3 He was the son of Hart Jones and Rachel Miriam Abraham.¹ Henry Jones appeared on the census of 6 June 1841 at Pall Mall, St James, Westminster, London England, probably as 'H. Jones' age 35, born in the county, and he was with his cousin Henry Jones [#5136], a Dentist, but no occupation has been entered against his name.³

      Her married name was Levy.¹ Catherine Jones was born circa 1803 at England.¹ She was the daughter of Hart Jones and Rachel Miriam Abraham.¹ Catherine Jones married Isaiah Levy circa 1825.^1,3

      Her married name was Hynes.⁴ Elizabeth Jones was born circa 1796 at Lynn, Norfolk England.^4,2 She was the daughter of Hart Jones and Rachel Miriam Abraham.⁴ Elizabeth Jones married Judah Hynes circa 1826.⁴ Elizabeth Jones appeared on the census of 6 April 1841 at High Street, King's Lynn, Norfolk England, as age 40, birthplace Norfolk.⁵ She appeared on the census of 7 April 1861 at 17 Clifton Street, Shoreditch, London, England, as Wife, age 65, birthplace Lynn, Norfolk.² She appeared on the census of 2 April 1871 at Commercial Road, Exeter, Devon England, as Wife, age 76, birthplace Lynn, Norfolk.⁶ She died in 1880 at London England; and her death was recorded at Shoreditch Registration district in the December quarter 1880, at age 86.⁷

     Henry Charles Levander was born circa 1826 at Norwich, Norfolk England.^3,4 He was the son of James Levander and Julia Jones.³ Henry Charles Levander appeared on the census of 6 June 1841 at 11 Bicton Place, Littleham, Devon England, as age 15 and he was not born in the county.⁵ He was educated at Oxford University and his entry in Oxford University Alumni, 1500-1886 reads as follows: 'Levander. Rev. Henry Charles, IS. James, of Norwich (city) gent. Pembroke College, matric 12 March, 1846, aged 19; B.A. 1850, M.A. 1863, a master of University College School, London 1866-84. Died 4 Dec., 1884.⁶'

He was named in two newspapers on 11 May 1850: Daily News (London, England), when he was listed as being conferred with a Masters Degree and being of Pembroke College, Oxford University, with the same notice in The Morning Chronicle (London, England). On 5 June 1850 the Daily News (London, England) published that he was an Exhibitioner at Pembroke College, Second Class, this was published also in The Morning Chronicle (London, England) and was also carried in Trewman's Exeter Flying Post or Plymouth and Cornish Advertiser (Exeter, England), on 13 June 1850.^7,8,9,10,11
He was listed in Devizes, Wiltshire, in the Post Office Directory of Wiltshire as follows:

     'Private Residents: Levander, Henry Charles, BA' and 'Levander, Henry Charles, BA, proprietary grammar school'

in 1859.¹² He had a letter to the Editor published in The Times titled 'The Satellites of Jupiter' concerning the aurora borealis of the last Thursday in when he says that he and two of his pupils saw two satellites of Jupiter with their own eyes lasting around 5 minutes. He checked he was not mistaken with his telescope etc. Unrecorded in the paper, he wished to know if any readers thought this was caused by 'any peculiarity in the state of the atmosphere connected with the aurora borealis'. Signed H.C. Levander, B.A., Proprietary Grammar School, Devizes on 27 April 1859.¹³ He was listed in Gillman's Devizes Public Register, Business Directory & Almanack as follows:

     'New Park Street: 39 Devises Grammar School. — Master, Mr H. C. Levander'

in 1861.¹⁴ He appeared on the census of 7 April 1861 at Grammar School, 38 Newport Street, Devizes, Wiltshire England, as Henry Lavander, Head, unmarried, age 34, birthplace Norwich, Norfolk, and he was Head Master of The Grammar School. His widowed Mother Julia also lived at the school. Several students and two Servants completed the household.¹⁵ He was executor of his Mother's Letters of Administration 26 April 1865 when he was 'Assistant Master of the Grammar School Clapham' at 111 Manor Street, Clapham, Surrey England.¹⁶ He appeared on the census of 2 April 1871 at 376 Wandsworth Road, Clapham, London England, as Head, unmarried, age 44, birthplace Norwich, Norfolk, and he was Classical Master at University College. There were two Visitors in the Household who were both Students and two Domestic Servants who were a Housekeeper and a Housemaid.¹⁷

He was listed as standing for election to the Freemasons, United Grand Lodge, Board of General Purposes, as a Past Master which resulted in the folowing: Lodge 623, Votes 218, according to a report in The Era (London, England) on 8 June 1879.¹⁸ He appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 at 30 North Villas, St Pancras, London England, as Head, unmarried, age 54, birthplace Norwich, Norfolk, and he was a Tutor. and he shared the premises with his brother Frederick Wiliam Levander

in 1882.²⁰ He died on 4 December 1884; and his death, at age 58, was registered in the December quarter 1884 at 'Pancras' Registration district. His name also appeared in 'Notes and Queries' of that year.^21,22,23,24 His estate was probated; and The 1885 National Probate Calander records:

'Lavander Henry Charles. Personal Estate £498 14s. 1d. 30 January. The Will of Henry Charles Levander late of 30 North-villas Camden Square in the County of Middlesex Gentleman who died 4 December 1884 at 30 North-villas was proved at the Principal Registry by Frederick William Levander of 30 North-villas Gentleman the Brother the Executor.'

and regarding his estate the following notice appeared in the London Gazette Issue 25448 published on the 3 March 1885:

     'HENRY CHARLES LEVANDER, Deceased. Pursuant to the Statute 22 and 23 Vic., chap. 35, intituled " An Act to further amend the Law of Property, and to relieve Trustees." NOTICE is hereby given, that all persons having any claims or demands against the estate of Henry Charles Levander, late of 30, North-villas, Camden-square, in the county of Middlesex, Gentleman (who died on the 4th of December, 1884, and whose will was, on the 30th of January, 1885, proved in the Principal Registry of the Probate Division of the High Court of Justice by Frederick William Levander*, the executor therein named), are required to send in the particulars of their claims and demands to the said Frederick William Levander, at 30, North-villas, Camden-square aforesaid, on or before the 11th day of April next, at the expiration of which time the said executor will proceed to distribute the assets of the said testator in accordance with the provisions of the said will, having regard only to the claims of which he shall then have had notice; and that the said executor will not be liable for the assets of the deceased, or any part thereof, so distributed to any person of whose debt or claim he shall not then have had notice.—Dated the 27th day of February, 1885.      William Levander was born circa 1837.¹ He was the son of James Levander and Julia Jones.¹

     Isaiah Levy was born circa 1800.¹ He married Catherine Jones, daughter of Hart Jones and Rachel Miriam Abraham, circa 1825.^1,3 Isaiah Levy was listed in 'Pigot & Co.'s National Commercial Directory 1828-29', in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire under 'Watchmakers' as:

     'Levy Isaiah (& Jeweller) Lord st.^1,2,4,3'

      Judah Hynes was also known as John Hynes.^3,4 He was born circa 1792 at Exeter, Devon England.^1,5 He was an Optician in Exeter, Devon,who moved to King's Lynn, Norfolk.^1,6 He married Elizabeth Jones, daughter of Hart Jones and Rachel Miriam Abraham, circa 1826.¹ Judah Hynes was 'A [Jewish] burial-ground was acquired in 1830, the community being represented by Hart Jones, silversmith: Daniel de Pass, clothier: Judah Hynes, optician: and Isaac Sampson, tobacconist. It is situated in Millfleet, [King's Lynn] and contains fourteen visible stones, some of which seem to go back to the period before the actual purchase of the ground, when it was presumably held on lease.⁷' He was The following entry in 'Pigot's Directory of Norfolk, 1839' appears to be relevant:

Also recorded were Elizabeth 40, Rebecca 14, Martha 12, William 10, Rachel 7, Caroline 6, Henry 5, Jane 3 and Catherine 35; all born in Norfolk, except Catherine.⁸ He appeared on the census of 7 April 1861 at 17 Clifton Street, Shoreditch, London, England, as John Hynes, Head, married, age 68, birthplace Exeter, Devon, and his Occupation was an Optician.⁴ He appeared on the census of 2 April 1871 at Commercial Road, Exeter, Devon England, as Head, married, age 78, birthplace Bideford, Devon, and for his occupation was given 'Rag Stores.⁹' He appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 at 89 Haberdasher Street, Shoreditch, London England, as Head, widowed, age 89, birthplace Exeter, Devon, and no occupation was given.⁵ He died between July 1881 and September 1881 at London England; and his death was registered in the September quarter 1881 at Shoreditch Registration district, at age 89.¹⁰

      Her married name was Jacobs.³ Catherine Hynes was born circa 1839 at England.¹ She was the daughter of Judah Hynes and Elizabeth Jones.¹ Catherine Hynes married (?) Jacobs circa 1860.³

     Frank Nottridge was born in 1872 at Shere, Surrey England; and his birth was recorded at Guildford record office in the March quarter 1872.^1,2 He was the son of James Nottridge and Frances Pullen.¹ Frank Nottridge appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 at Cranleigh, Surrey England, as Son, age 9, birthplace Shere, Surrey.¹ He married Ada Padwick in 1898; and thire marriage was recorded at Guildford record office in the March quarter 1898.³ Frank Nottridge appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at Stoke Within, Guildford, Surrey England, as Head, married, age 29, birthplace Dorking, Surrey.⁴

     Robert Bowie was born on 19 December 1869 at Linlithgow, West Lothian Scotland.^1,2 He was the son of Robert Bowie and Agnes Bryce.¹ Robert Bowie appeared on the census of 2 April 1871 at 184 High Street, Linlithgow, West Lothian Scotland, as Son, age 1, birthplace Linlithgow, Linlithgowshire.¹ He appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 at 79 High Street, Linlithgow, West Lothian Scotland, as Son, age 11, birthplace Linlithgow, Linlithgowshire, and he was a Scholar.³ He appeared on the census of 5 April 1891 at 87 High Street, Linlithgow, West Lothian Scotland, as Son, age 21, birthplace Linlithgow, Linlithgowshire, and he was a Paper Finisher.⁴ He married Margaret T Taylor on 12 January 1898 at 4 Panmuir Place, Edinburgh, Midlothian Scotland.^5,6 Robert Bowie appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at 9 Forester's Buildings, Linlithgow, West Lothian Scotland, as Head, married, age 31, birthplace Linlithgow, Linlithgowshire, and he was a Paper Finisher.⁵ He died on 12 May 1951 at Cupar, Fifeshire Scotland, at age 81.⁷

     William Bryce Bowie was born on 3 May 1872 at Linlithgow, West Lothian Scotland.^1,2 He was the son of Robert Bowie and Agnes Bryce.¹ William Bryce Bowie appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 at 79 High Street, Linlithgow, West Lothian Scotland, as Son, age 7, birthplace Linlithgow, Linlithgowshire, and he was a Scholar.¹

     William Bryce Bowie was born on 8 January 1874 at Linlithgow, West Lothian Scotland.¹ He was the son of Robert Bowie and Agnes Bryce.¹ William Bryce Bowie appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 at 79 High Street, Linlithgow, West Lothian Scotland, as Son, age 7, birthplace Linlithgow, Linlithgowshire, and he was a Scholar.²

     Edward Granger was christened on 29 April 1825 at Stretham, Cambridgeshire England.^3,2,4 He was the son of Edward Granger and Rebecca Weddelow.^2,3 Edward Granger appeared on the census of 6 June 1841 at Stretham, Cambridgeshire England, as age 15, birthplace Cambridgeshire, with John, occupation Farmer, Joseph and Sarah Granger.⁵ He married Adelaide Fellowes Jones, daughter of John Jones and Mary Ann Watson, in 1850 at Cambridge, Cambridgeshire England; and their marriage was recorded in the December quarter 1850 at Cambridge Registration district.^6,7 Edward Granger appeared on the census of 30 March 1851 at Pratt Street, Soham, Cambridgeshire England, as Head, married, age 25, birthplace Stretham (transcribed as Hutham Esardy), Cambridgeshire, and he was 'Farming 300 Acres Employing 11 men and 4 boys'. He was living with his Wife Adelaide and his Mother Rebecca. Augustus Jones, Adelaide's brother, was a Visitor and a House Servant and Cook completed the household.²

      Rebecca Weddelow was also known as Rebekah Waddelow.³ Her married name was Granger.³ She was born circa 1787; in Cambridgeshire and she was the Daughter of John and Mary Waddelow.^2,4 She married Edward Granger circa 1812; and they are believed to have had at least six children, with Edward probably being one of the youngest.³ Rebecca Weddelow appeared on the census of 30 March 1851 at Pratt Street, Soham, Cambridgeshire England, as Mother, widowed, age 63, birthplace (transcribed as 'St Cats Wettheny'), Cambridgeshire, and she was an Annuitant living with her son Edward and her daughter-in-law Adelaide.² She died in 1870 at Cambridgeshire England; and her death was recorded at Ely Registration district in the December quarter 1870, at age 83.⁵

     Arthur W Leggett was born circa 1892. He married Eva Winifred N Wye, daughter of Thomas Wye and Ann Burchett, in 1914; and their marriage was recorded at Westbourne record office in the December quarter 1914.¹ Arthur W Leggett died in 1962 at Surrey England; and his death was recorded at Surrey South Western registration office in the March quarter 1962.²

      Her married name was Bedford.¹ Sarah Wells was born circa 1760.¹ She married James Bedford on 22 July 1783 at Woking, Surrey England.¹

     Charles Wells was christened on 28 January 1816 at Woking, Surrey England.¹ He was the son of James Wells and Mary Edds.¹

     John Frank Daborn was born on 15 March 1929; and his birth was recorded at Richmond Surrey record office in the June quarter 1929.^1,2 He was the son of William Frank Daborn and Florence Lilian Harbird.¹ John Frank Daborn died in December 1992 at age 63; and his death was recorded at Brent record office in December 1992.²

     Agnes Mary Wells was christened on 3 July 1842 at Saint John The Baptist, Woking, Surrey England.¹ She was the daughter of James Wells and Mary Hursey.¹

     Harold Ernest Boughton was born on 3 June 1915 at Surrey England; and his birth was recorded at Guildford record office in the September quarter 1915.^2,3 He was the son of Ernest Ockley Boughton and Kate Mursell.¹ Harold Ernest Boughton died in February 1997 at Surrey England at age 81; and his death was recorded at West Surrey Registration office in February 1997.³

      Her married name was Daborn.¹ Mabel Amelia Prangnell was born circa 1885. She married William Daborn, son of William Daborn and Rebecca Mepham, in 1905; and their marriage was recorded at Guildford record office in the December quarter 1905.¹ Mabel Amelia Prangnell died in 1955 at Surrey England; and her death was recorded at Surrey North Western registration office in the September quarter 1955.²

      Her married name was Morris.² Blanch A Daborn was born in 1914; and his birth was recorded at Farnham record office in the March quarter 1914.¹ She was the daughter of William Daborn and Mabel Amelia Prangnell.¹ Blanch A Daborn married Gilbert G Morris in 1961; and their marriage was recorded at Aldershot record office in the December quarter 1961.²

     Sarah Sleet was christened on 28 October 1855 at Saint Lawrence, Chobham, Surrey England.¹ She was the daughter of William Sleet and Harriet Sleet.¹ Sarah Sleet died in 1856; and her death was recorded at Chertsey record office in the December quarter 1856.²
