     Her married name was George.1 Jessie Irene Robinson was born in 1888 at Victoria Australia.1,2 She married Holdsworth Leveson George, son of Lewis Henry George and Josephine Holdsworth, on 27 September 1915 at Holy Trinity Church, Balaclava, Victoria Australia.3,4 Jessie Irene Robinson and Holdsworth Leveson George had an announcement of their marriage printed in The Argus (Melbourne, Victoria) which recorded they were married by Rev. F. G. Masters. He was described as 'the only son of Mrs George, of "Norwood", Odessa Street, St Kilda, and the late Mr H.L. George'. She was described as 'the only daughter of Mrs Robinson, of "Nivana", Milton Street, St Kilda, and the late Mr G.W. Robinson. At home, "Khandallah", 245 Brighton Road, St Kilda, Thursday and Friday afternoons and evenings 21st and 22nd inst.' on 16 October 1915.4 Jessie Irene Robinson was a Cashier.1 She was an elector on the Australian Electoral Roll and she worked at Home Duties in 1919 at Orontes, Harwood Street, South Elsternwick, Henty, Victoria Australia.5 She was an elector on the Australian Electoral Roll and she worked at Home Duties in 1924 at 17 Swanston Street, Bellarine, Corio, Victoria Australia.6 She was an elector on the Australian Electoral Roll 1931 and 1936 and she worked at Home Duties at Union Bank, Casterton, Wannon, Victoria Australia.7 She died on 3 October 1942 at Victoria Australia; where her death was recorded in that year.      Rear-Admiral Frank Leveson George was born on 15 March 1910 at Sydney, New South Wales Australia.1,4 He was the son of Frank Charles George and Alice Mary Earls Davis.1 Rear-Admiral Frank Leveson George Enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy on 1 January 1924.1,5,6 He and Stella Marguerite Malkin were engaged; and an announcement of their forthcoming marriage was placed in The Times of 11 August 1933. They were described as 'Lieutant Frank Leveson George, R.A.N., eldest son of Mr and Mrs Frank George of Sydney, N.S.W., and Stella Marguerite, second daughter of Sydney W Malkin, Knight of Grace of the Order of St John, and Mrs Malkin, Rock Cliffe, Cheadle, Staffordshire.7' Rear-Admiral Frank Leveson George married Stella Marguerite Malkin on 12 June 1934 at Saint Mark, Darling Point, Woollahara, Sydney, New South Wales Australia, and they were later divorced.8,9

Rear-Admiral Frank Leveson George and Stella Marguerite Malkin emigrated on 21 November 1955; they were recorded as Out-going Passengers from the UK on the Himalaya from London to Sydney, Australia, with their two daughters.10,11 Rear-Admiral Frank Leveson George was the author of two musicals and applied for copyright for: In Half an Hour it's Spring and Life is Like a Song, which were registered 6 December 1961, and copies are held at the National Archives of Australia, 16 November 1961 at Double Bay, New South Wales Australia.12 He was photographed in 1963 and a copy of the photograph is held in the National Archives of Australia with the description: 'Rear-Admiral Frank Leveson George, MI, Mar E, FAIM, RAN Third Naval Member of the Australian Naval Board'.13

He was awarded the following honour:

'The Queen has been graciously pleased, on the occasion of Her Majesty's Birthday, and on the advice of her Majesty's Australian Ministers, to give orders for the following appointments to the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire: To be Ordinary Commander of the Military Division of the said Most Excellent Order [C.B.E.]: Rear-Admiral Frank Leveson George'. The announcement was published in The London Gazette of 5th June 1964 and in the Australian Gazette 25th June 1964.14,2

He married Everilda June Hughes on 20 September 1966 at Australian Capital Territory Australia.1,15 Rear-Admiral Frank Leveson George was Discharged from the Royal Australian Navy and his posting at Discharge was Rear-Admiral on HMAS Harman on 14 March 1967.6 He had an entry in Who's Who in Australia in 1977:

     Alastair Leveson George was born on 5 May 1914 at Sydney, New South Wales Australia.1,2 He was the son of Frank Charles George and Alice Mary Earls Davis.1 Alastair Leveson George and Rosemary Leveson George were reported in the Sydney Morning Herald in the following item published on 1 January 1937: 'Lieutenant and Mrs, Frank Leveson George and their nine months' old daughter, Diana, have arrived from Melbourne to spend a short holiday with Lieutenant George's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank George, at Bayard, Point Piper. Miss Rosemary George and Mr. Alistair George motored from Sydney on Christmas morning to bring the party from Melbourne.'

Alastair Leveson George enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy during WWII at Perth, Western Australia, giving his next of kin as his wife Barbara after their marriage on 27 August 1939.2 He and Barbara Adair Boileau were engaged on 27 May 1942 at New South Wales Australia; and an announcement was place in The Sydney Morning Herald describing them as 'only daughter of Mr and Mrs H S Boileau of Goulburn to Paymaster Lieutenant Alistair George, R.A.N.V.R., second son of Mrs. and Mrs Frank George, of Winslow Gardens, Darling Point.3' Alastair Leveson George married Barbara Adair Boileau in December 1942 at Woollahara, New South Wales Australia; and an announcement was made in The Sydney Morning Herald of 12 December 1942.4,5 Alastair Leveson George left the Royal Australian Navy at the end of the war and his posting at Discharge was Pay Lieut. on HMAS Rushcutter on 15 November 1945.2 He and Barbara Adair Boileau were an elector on the Australian Electoral Roll and he was a Road Manager and she was involved in Home Duties in 1954 at 75 Darling Point Road, Edgcliff, Woollahara, Wentworth, New South Wales Australia.6 Alastair Leveson George died on 30 November 1976 at New South Wales Australia at age 62; and his death was recorded in New South Wales.7,8 His death notice was published in the Sydney Morning Herald on 2 December 1976 and described him as 'late of Woollahra.8'

     Everilda June Hughes was born on 17 June 1922; and she was the daughter of Richard Pierce Hughes. In 1958 Canada was the 'Country of which [she was] a citizen as shown on passport. (If citizen of U.K. and colonies state also country of issue of passport)' on a ship's manifest.2,3,4

She was recorded as a 27 year old Stenographer arriving in Southampton, England, aboard the Washington, which had sailed from New York. Her proposed address was 37 Addison Road, London, W14; she had last resided permanently in Canada and she intended to permanently reside in future in The British Empire. Also travelling on the ship was Stuart D Campbell, a 28 year old Grocer, who gave the same London address and details of residence on 14 September 1949.5 She was married to Stuart D Campbell and their marriage was recorded at Kensington Registration district, London, England, in the December quarter in 1949.6,2,7,8,9 As of 1949, her married name was Campbell.7 She was a passenger arriving at Tilbury, London, England, on 24 January 1953 sailing on P&O's Stratheden, from Sydney, Australia, embarking at Melbourne, age 30, whose last country of permanent residence was Australia. Her propsed address for her stay in the United Kingdom was 37 Addison Road, London, W.14., and this address was also for Shirley H Cruickshank, age 42, and Charles Colin Campbell, age 2.10,11

She was a passenger arriving at London, England, on 2 June 1958 sailing on P&O's Himalaya, from Sydney, Australia, embarking at Melbourne/Fremantle, born 17 June 1922, single, citizen of Canada, whose occupation was Part-time Sales Representative. Her proposed address for her stay in the United Kingdom was c/o Dr & Mrs Floyd, Borcha, Kilkeel, Co. Down, Northern Ireland, and this address was also for citizen of Australia, student Charles Campbell, born 11 October 1950. Both were permanent residents of Australia on a six month visit.3

She was the subject and part author of manuscript papers dating from 1961-1993 deposited at The National Library of Australia, where she is described as 'Everilda June George (formerly Campbell, nee Hughes) was the wife of Rear Admiral Frank Leveson George. She was the Honorary Secretary of the Asthma Foundation of Victoria, 1964-1965' A summary of the papers is also provided:

'Memorabilia of June George including personal correspondence, 1961-1991, and official letters of recommendation for an overseas trip, 1965-1966; newspaper clippings, 1966-1986; invitations to official functions, 1956-1991 (including tickets to the 1956 Melbourne Olympics); and other papers including a photocopy of the funeral service of Rear Admiral F.L. George, 18 May 1992. There are also papers relating to June George's involvement in the Asthma Foundation of Victoria, including annual reports, 1964-1981, and writings by George on the history of the Foundation. Other files relate to the Women of the Year Luncheon, 1984-1991, Dr Barnardo's Women's Auxiliary, 1968-1969, and, the Women's International Club, 1982-1986.

'The Acc07/125 instalment comprises letters and postcards from author Catherine Gaskin (also known as Catherine Cornberg) to Mrs. F.L. (June) George. In addition, a small number of news clippings and colour photographs of Gaskin.2'

Her married name was George.7 She married Rear-Admiral Frank Leveson George, son of Frank Charles George and Alice Mary Earls Davis, on 20 September 1966 at Australian Capital Territory Australia.1,6 Everilda June Hughes died on 5 February 2009 at Australian Capital Territory Australia at age 86; and announcements were published in The Canberra Times and which described her as 'late of Campbell, ACT' and age 86.12 Her estate was probated; and notices were published in The Canberra Times on 13 February and 27 March 2009.12

      Alexander Banfield-Tubbs was also known as Alexander Bamfield Tubbs.2 He was born on 26 May 1910 at Melbourne, Victoria Australia, and he was the son of Frank Thornton Banfield-Tubbs and Beatrie Cave Gould.1,3 He was an elector registered and listed on the Australian Electorial Rolls 1901-1936, at least three times from c 1931 at Balaclava, Victoria Australia.4 He was a Salesman circa 1936.1 He married Helen Wynne George, daughter of Wynne Ernest George and Sarah Ann Snowdon, on 16 November 1937 at Victoria Australia.1,5 Alexander Banfield-Tubbs enlisted in the Australian Army during WWII at Hobart, Tasmania, giving his next of kin as his wife Helen and the National Archives of Australia hold item 6381676 in the Second Australian Imperial Force Personnel Dossiers Series for this period, his Service Number was TX8799 on 22 April 1942.3,6 He was Discharged from the Australian Army and his posting at Discharge was Warrant Officer Class 2 with the 31 Company AASC on 21 November 1945.6 He died on 23 January 1977 at New South Wales Australia at age 66; and his death was announced in the Sydney Morning Herald two days later.7,8

He married Sarah Rosen, daughter of Abraham Joseph Rosen and Rebecca (?), on 6 October 1920 at Old Hebrew Congregation, Liverpool, Lancashire England; and their marriage was recorded at Toxteth Park Registration district in the December quarter 1920 and in the Liverpool Old Herew Congregation Registers. Horatio was described as age 27, dentist, of 94 Conway Street, Birkenhead. Sarah was described as age 27, a private secretary of 49 Kenilworth Road, Wallasey.6,7,8 Horatio Drielsma Jones next appears arriving at Ellis Island, New York, United States of America, on 1 March 1923, travelling on the Regina from Liverpool, England. He is recorded as married, age 30, from Wallasey, England, and for ethnicity 'Gt. Britain, Welsh'. Having paid for the passage himself, he was in possession of 50 dollars, had not been in the United States before, and he was to join his Sister-in-law, Miss Rosen, of 443 - 16th Street, Brooklyn, New York. His purpose in coming to the United States was given as uncertain. He was 5 foot 4 and three-quarter inches tall, with a sallow complexion, brown hair, grey eyes and he was born in Shrewsbury, England. He appears to have decided to stay in the United States as his wife and infant son arrived in New York five months later intending to stay permanently in the country.

His full name was also subsequently recorded in an Index to Petitions for Naturalization filed in New York City, 1792-1989 and in Selected U.S. Naturalization Records - Original Documents, 1790-1974 (World Archives Project). The Kings County (Brooklyn NY) Naturalization Index transcribed by the Jewish Genealogical Society has a record for 'Horatio Arielsma/Drielsma Jones' dated 1924.9,10,11

     Major Gilbert Sidney Jones LDS, DSO was born in 1892 at Stamford, Lincolnshire England; and his birth was registered in the March quarter 1892 at Stamford Registration district.3,1 He was the son of Albert Sidney Jones LDS and Ethel Godson.1,2 Major Gilbert Sidney Jones LDS, DSO appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at 59-60 High Street, Stamford, Lincolnshire England, as Son, age 9, birthplace Stamford, Lincolnshire.2,4 He appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 at 59-60 St Martins, Stamford, Lincolnshire England, as Son, age 19, birthplace Stamford, and he was a Dental Student.5

He served in the Royal Field Artillery in the Great War [WWI 1914-1918] and The Supplement to the London Gazette of 5 July 1915 records 'Cadet Gilbert Sidney Jones, from the University of London Contingent, Senior Division, Officers Training Corps, to be Second Lieutenant. Dated 6th July, 1915'. The National Archives contain his British Army WWI medal card for the British War Medal, the Victory Medal and the 1915 Star, as Second Lieutenant and then Lieutenant Captain, from service in the threatre of war in France starting 11 November 1915. He appears to have 'Retd' 10 April 1923.6,7

He was listed in the Dental Surgeons Directory in 1925.8 He appeared in The London Gazette of 19 November 1937 when it was announced that the King had conferred the Terrorial Army 'Efficiency Decoration upon the undermentioned Officers under the terms of the Royal Warrant dated 23rd September, 1930: — ...Infantry...4th Bn. Lincoln. R.— ...Maj. Gilbert Sidney Jones'.9

He was recorded as a Dentist between 1937 and 1950 at 59-60 High Street, Stamford, Lincolnshire England.1,10 He served in the Second World War [1939-1945]. The London Gazette Third Supplement of 22 October 1940 records he was awarded the Distinguished Service Order by the King 'in recognition of gallant conduct in action with the enemy'.

Peter Golden write 'An undated press cutting gives more detail; “Major Gilbert Sidney Jones, 6th Bn., Lincolnshire Regiment, who won a DSO for his part in evacuating the Dunkirk beaches, 1/2nd June 1940.
