In April of 1917, Levason and his family arrived at St. Peter’s Mission, Lesser Slave Lake, Alberta where Levason worked as principal and teacher as well as being a lay reader. The Levasons remained there until 1922 when they and new daughter Kitty Madeleine (born August 13, 1918) returned to Vancouver. Levason attended the Anglican Theological College, graduating in 1925. The Levasons then returned to the Peace River country, to St Andrew’s at Lake Saskatoon. The family moved to Ontario in 1928.
