Alexander Moses was the Founder of the Falmouth Jewish community and he provided it 'with an economic system from which it could expand' circa 1748.7 He died on 28 April 1791 at Falmouth, Cornwall England.7 He was buried on 29 April 1791; at Falmouth, Coprnwall, and his monumental inscription reads in Hebrew:
'May his soul be bound up in the bond of eternal life. Here dwells and takes delight a faithful man, a leader and guide; a shield to his generation with his body, his blood and his flesh. His house was open and his table laid for all. He stood righteously until the Lord, in whom he trusted, gathered him. Alexander the son of Moses. Died on the 24th and was buried on the 25th Nisan 5551.8'
He left a will after 29 April 1791; as follows:
'Consistory Court, Exeter.
Alexander Moses of Falmouth, dealer in silverware, being weak in body. To each of my several children hereinafter named, that is to say, Sarah Jacob, wife of Moses Jacob of Redruth, Moses Moses, Rose Simons, wife of Samuel Simons of Truro, Hannah Levi, wife of Israel Levi of Truro, and Judith Joseph, wife of Henry Joseph of Stu Austle, the sum of 5s. Residue of messauges, land, goods, stock in trade, money, etc. to my beloved wife, Phebe Moses and my son Philip Moses and the survivor of them equally between them; but in case my wife shall marry again, then and in such case and not otherwise, all such her part and share of my messauges etc. so bequeathed as aforesaid shall become the sole property of the said Philip Moses, and my wife shall be utterly excluded from all the advantages etc. which she may have by virtue of said bequest.
I appoint my said wife, Phebe Moses and my said son Philip Moses Joint executors.

Her married name was Moses.2 Pheobe (?) was born circa 1725 at Alsace France; and she was 'Feigele, daughter of Moses.3,4' She married Alexander Moses circa 1747 at Alsace France; and they had two sons: Philip, who married Betsey Jacobs, and Moses Moses who moved to Le Havre, and four daughters: Rosa, who married Samuel Simons; Hannah who married Israel Levy; Judith who married firstly Henry Joseph and secondly Lazarus Lawrence, and Sarah, who married Moses Jacob.5,2,6
Pheobe (?) was executrix to her husband's will with her son Philip Moses on 21 November 1793.7 She died on 15 September 1804 at Falmouth, Cornwall England.5 She was buried after 15 September 1804; at Falmouth, Cornwall.4

Her married name was Simons.1 Rosa Moses was born in 1757.1 She was the daughter of Alexander Moses and Pheobe (?).3 Rosa Moses married Samuel Simons circa 1776.1 Rosa Moses and Samuel Simons are known to have had at least the following issue: Isaac, Walter, Sarah Kate, Philip, Joseph, Eliezer and Morris circa December 1776.4 Rosa Moses died on 12 January 1838 at Falmouth, Cornwall England.1 She was buried after 12 January 1838 at Falmouth, Cornwall England; and her monumental inscription reads 'Rosa (Moses) Simons (Rosa, daughter of Alexander). Died 15 Tevet 5598 (1838) in her 82nd year. Hebrew: Here lies the woman Rosa the daughter of Alexander, the wife of Samuel. She died on Sabbath eve 15th Tevet and was buried on Sunday 17th Tevet 5598. May her sould be bound up in the bond of eternal life.2'
