     Simon Hyam (Simcha Ipswich) was born circa 1740 at Hamburg, Germany.¹ He married Rose (?) circa 1765.² Simon Hyam (Simcha Ipswich) lived between 1773 and 1785; Brown says 'Undoubtedly one of the first [Jewish] settlers [in Suffolk] was the Hamburg-born Simon Hyam, who from 1773 to 1785 occupied a moderately large house in Fore Street.³' He died before 28 April 1824.¹ His estate was probated on 28 April 1824; and The National Archives contain the following document:

     Moses (Moshe) Lazarus (Rochford) was born circa 1740 at Worms, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany.^1,3 He married Esther Davies circa 1772.¹ Moses (Moshe) Lazarus (Rochford) was denizenised/naturalized on 4 June 1801.⁴ He died circa 1814 at England.¹

      Esther Davies was also known as Esther Davis.² Her married name was Lazarus.¹ She was born circa 1754.^3,4,5 She married Moses (Moshe) Lazarus (Rochford) circa 1772.¹ Esther Davies died after 1815.¹

     Thomas Philbrook was born in 1883 at Kent England; and his birth was recorded at Lewisham Registration district in the June quarter 1883.² He was the son of Thomas Philbrook and Emily Standen.¹ Thomas Philbrook died circa 1889 at England; aged 6.³

     Ronald Stewart Spreadbury was born on 9 September 1910; and her birth was recorded at Amesbury record office in the December quarter 1910.^2,1,3 He was the son of Ernest Spreadbury and Fanny Eve M Netton.¹ Ronald Stewart Spreadbury died in April 1990 at age 79; and his death was recorded at Salisbury record office in Apr 1990.³
