It was also recorded in Liverpool Old Hebrew Congregation Marriage Register.1,7,8,9,10 Armand Mancus was a merchant tailor. The article refers to the indenture in the following section :

'The documents which have survived in the archives of the British Dental Association, although too few to allow for conclusions to be drawn about how representative they are of dental apprenticeship in general, cover a wide range of transactions and locations....
Premiums paid varied greatly ....... one of the two [indentures] which show a family connection ......... that of 'Lewin Lewis Rose Mosely of No 21 Cornwallis Gardens - Hastings in the County of Sussex ... to Benjamin Lewin Mosely of Number 236 Robertson Street Hastings in the said County of Sussex - Dentist' in 1892, required no financial premium....'

On 21 May 1901 'Discharge suspended for two years. He was recorded in a illustrated newspaper article as being the owner of 'Two Young Marmozets, The First Ever Bred in Europe' in The Graphic which published an engraving which had been 'Engraved Life Size' of the two animals, which survived twenty-four and seventy-two hours. 'Mr Fred S Mosely, F.Z.S.' had announced their birth in The Times, seventeen days earlier. His 'villa' was visited by three gentleman who appear to have upheld his claim. He explains where they were purchased and how his servant 'who attends to all my pets' came to him with the unexpected news. He says his lack of experience and knowledge caused their deaths and made an appeal for information from The Graphic's readers on 27 October 1883 at 448 Strand, London England.10 He appeared on the census of 5 April 1891 at 24 Park Village East, St Pancras, London England, as Head, widowed, age 50, birthplace London, and he was an Employer and Surgeon Dentist. He was recorded in a illustrated newspaper article as being the owner of 'Two Young Marmozets, The First Ever Bred in Europe' in The Graphic which published an engraving which had been 'Engraved Life Size' of the two animals, which survived twenty-four and seventy-two hours. 'Mr Fred S Mosely, F.Z.S.' had announced their birth in The Times, seventeen days earlier. His 'villa' was visited by three gentleman who appear to have upheld his claim. He explains where they were purchased and how his servant 'who attends to all my pets' came to him with the unexpected news. He says his lack of experience and knowledge caused their deaths and made an appeal for information from The Graphic's readers on 27 October 1883 at 448 Strand, London England.10 He appeared on the census of 5 April 1891 at 24 Park Village East, St Pancras, London England, as Head, widowed, age 50, birthplace London, and he was an Employer and Surgeon Dentist. 'It is titled: "Counter Petition of Licensed Victuallers against Miss Mosely of No. 8 Mandeville Place." She was operating a boarding house at that address and had applied for a Wine and Beer Licence. The petitioners argued that "no necessity exists for the grant of a Wine and Beer License to the Applicant for your Petitioners Houses are in the immediate vicinity of the Applicants House whilst there are many Grocers and others in the same neighbourhood who supply Wine and Beer to those requiring them." They go on to complain about increased competition, high rents, and taxes...Accompanying this petition is a single sheet which is a "Confirmation of Licences 1888" ' which apparently granted the licence
between 1887 and 1888.9,10 She appeared on the census of 1891 at 8 Mandeville Place, Marylebone, London England, as Amelia Moseley, Manageress, unmarried, age 57, birthplace Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, and she was a 'Hotel Keeper (Pub).11' She appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at 15 Langham Street, Marylebone, London England, as Amelia Moseley, Sister, of whom it is unclear, single, age 74 (sic), birthplace Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, and she was Living on her own Means.12 She died in 1902; and her death was registered in the June quarter 1902 at Hampstead, London, age 68.13

This was probably in connection with two later articles, one a full report in The New York Times: A Dog with False Teeth; A London Dentist Took Endless Trouble and Made a Good Job (4 August 1898) and one quoted on Birds and All Nature: Animals as Patients that 'there was exhibited at a certain show a very interesting and aged schipperke, who was at that time the only dog in the world boasting a complete set of false teeth. His owner, Mr. Moseley (sic), is a dentist as well as a lover of animals, and it is entirely due to his skill that the little dog is able to eat with perfect comfort by the aid of the artificial molars provided for him by his master..' on 26 December 1896 at 314 Regent Street, London England.9,10,11,12 He was listed in 'Kelly's London Suburban Directory, 1901. in 1901.13 He married Kathleen Emma Searston in 1901; and their marriage was registered in the June quarter 1901 at Marylebone Registration district, London.4,14 Edward Lewin Mosely appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at West Ham, London England, as Head, married, age 32, born London, Middlesex, and he was a Dental Surgeon.4 He was recorded on an Incoming UK Passenger List from Port Said arriving at Tilbury on the SS Oxfordshire, as a 70 year old Dental Surgeon, proposing to stay at the Cumberland Hotel, London, last resident in South Africa, travelling with his wife and daughter on 26 March 1937.15

'The documents which have survived in the archives of the British Dental Association, although too few to allow for conclusions to be drawn about how representative they are of dental apprenticeship in general, cover a wide range of transactions and locations....
Premiums paid varied greatly ....... one of the two [indentures] which show a family connection ......... that of 'Lewin Lewis Rose Mosely of No 21 Cornwallis Gardens - Hastings in the County of Sussex ... to Benjamin Lewin Mosely of Number 236 Robertson Street Hastings in the said County of Sussex - Dentist' in 1892, required no financial premium.....'
