Jemima Palmer 1 was born 2 on 15 Apr 1756 in Kent, Litchfield, Connecticut. She died 3 on 13 Mar 1811. She married 4 Jonathan Phillips on 21 Jan 1779 in Preston, New London, Connecticut.

According to The Roads Taken:
Jemima is steeped in the blood of early settlers of America. Jemima Palmer is a direct descendant of William Palmer, who was a passenger on a Mayflower sister ship in 1621, the 'Anne'. William arrived just after 'The First Thanksgiving'. She is also a descendant of Hannah Johnson, a child of a Winthrop Fleet Passenger. William Palmer was a passenger on the the ship 'Fortune'. This ship followed closely on the heels of the Mayflower of 1620. The ship 'Fortune' arrived at Plymouth on November 9, 1621, just a few weeks after the First Thanksgiving. The passenger list is based on the 1623 Division of Land, the passenger list compiled by Charles Edward Banks in Planters of the Commonwealth, by material published occasionally by Robert S. Wakefield in the Mayflower Quarterly, and by the information found in Eugene Aubre Stratton's Plymouth Colony: Its History and Its People, 1620-1691. William's wife Frances arrived on the sister ship 'Anne'. The ship 'Anne' arrived in Plymouth in July, 1623 accompanied by the Little James, bringing new settlers along with many of the wives and children that had been left behind in Leyden when the Mayflower departed in 1620. This ship passenger list is reconstructed from the 1623 Division of Land, the passenger list compiled by Charles Banks in Planters of the Commonwealth, and the research found in Eugene Aubrey Stratton's Plymouth Colony: Its History and Its People, 1620-1691. Jemima Palmer also is/may be the ggg grandniece of Isaac Johnson (1596-1630), who is credited as being the Founder of Boston. For more information, see the notes in the file of her ggg grandfather, John Johnson, brother of Isaac Johnson. Also see the notes in the file of Isaac Johnson, who is also of note because he married Lady Arabella Fynes, daughter of Thomas Fynes, Third Earl of Lincoln. Many footnotes would be needed to document the connections of Jemima Palmer with the ancestry of early New England and America; a book could be written.
